Radamel Falcao Zarate

Re: Falcao

Manchester United has every chance of being the team that Radamel Falcao joins for next season. Despite speculation in recent months linking him with Chelsea and even with Real Madrid, the fact is that the Old Trafford club is the best placed to sign the Colombian forward. Sources close to both parties suggest that a down payment may have already been made as a guarantee for a future transfer.

This sequence of events is nothing new. The same thing happened two seasons ago, when David de Gea left the Vicente Calderón to become a Red Devil. The deal between the clubs had been finalised months before, no matter how much the general public and the keeper himself said otherwise. In fact, Atlético had already pocketed a large part of the total fee paid by United. In this case however, the sums in question are going to be much bigger. De Gea left for about €20m, whilst Falcao could set United back over €50m.

One of the matters still to resolve is that of the last instalment of the €40m agreed at the time and still owed by Atlético to Porto. However, in no case will Falcao’s €60m buy-out clause – inserted into the contract tying him to the club until 2016 – be paid.

This is good news for either us or Chelsea, only reason this story been leaked is to put pressure on the "real" buyer, if its not fugazi...

After @soccerex and #4Amigos tonight, let's deal with Falcao/MU. But they HAVE paid an advance as they did with de Gea

I refuse to believe it. He will NOT sign for United.

It's bollocks as per usual.

If United had signed an advance they wouldn't still be in talks with both ourselves, Chelsea and Madrid.

Rooney is going nowhere. His wife gives birth in two months, you really think he's going to uproot his family for a foreign club of Ferguson's choosing?

Makes good headlines, bumps share price, but United are so far away from signing any player over £40m when it also factors in wages.

If they could get the money for that, they would get it for Ronaldo, and make the transfer pay for itself.

Cheers Tolmie ! Agreed is no chance united will sign him im sure he is Chelsea bound..

Would this be the same Guillem Balague that said Chelsea had a deal with him involving Cash + Courtois? And the same Guillem Ballague who said for the entire first half of January that Pep had "DEFINITELY NOT AGREED ANYTHING WITH ANYONE" or made a decision about where he wanted to go, only for it to be reveled mid-January that he'd signed a contract with BM months before?

LMAO, this guy is just another bullshit-peddling charltan like the rest of them. Only gets his "predictions" right because he predicts essentially every possible scenario for every transfer.

First he said it was PSG who contacted him and were "favourites", then it was Chelsea, now it's the rags, and expect him to link him to us in the next month or two. That way when he does eventually move to one of those clubs like just about every fucking idiot in the world and their mother knows he will, he'll have been "right" about another story. LOL, gimme a break.

United are stuck with Rooney and deep down they know it, too.

£250k a week another three years left - OUCH!

Nani is looking to kick them in the bollocks going into his final year.

Don't you think it's a little bit of a coincidence in the immediate aftermath of our glorious derby victory we have had the following.

United were the better team.

Phil Jones is a phenomenon.

Van Persie really was magnificent.

United were indifferent to a game described earlier in Ferguson's programme notes as: 'A test of strength'.

United announce £15m/£18m/£30m a year 'unique' training ground sponsorship deal.

United to sign Falcao for £35m, despite the fact he has a £50m buy-out clause.

If I didn't know any better...

-- Thu Apr 11, 2013 12:03 pm --

His one and only qualification is he can speak English.

So can plenty of other Spaniards I have encountered down the years, mainly working behind bars.

They read the same Spanish newspapers as Ball bag.

I'm inclined to believe he'll go to United. Ferguson seems to want rid of Rooney and if you factor in the sale of Rooney to PSG or the like, it will only be about 15-20 mil signing.

It sucks but it seems very plausible to me.

Cavani for us then I guess. I think Falcao is a better player than Cavani, but Cavani and Aguero is a strike partnership that's pretty mean too.

We need Aguero to have a Messi like season next year though, Falcao and RVP will score a lot of goals.

Ferguson has needed a CM for a few years now and has refused to do so, instead concentrating on strikers.

In theory I agree with this. However, watching their recent games, I'm reaching the conclusion that they don't need a midfield at all.

That's because they are an up market long ball team At their best the had 2 tacklers in the middle with their skilled players being wide. They don't play long to a big striker but long to the wide men. Check them out even at junior level, they lack a sophistication, they mirror the man who runs them.

PLausible at what level is it plausible? Why would PSG pay 40m for rooney and 250k a week wages, rooney doesnt sell shirts and he certainly doesnt fit into their style of play. This is to assume that he wants to go their also. It is just the perfect timing to release a story like this after a derby defeat i said it in another thread.

Basically all these stories say that atletico are willing to sell to united for much less than his buyout clause, why? Why would they sell to someone like united for less money, there is no upside for them, united arent going to pay in full at once like us or chelsea can, so basically they are going to sell for less over less time if they can get rooney to go to PSG.

I still don't see how they plan on affording the transfer and his wages...

I'm with tolmie though I don't see how they can get rid of Rooney and what club would want to take on his wages

i agree. Dont know much about united financal situation though, but how come they could afford van persie and his wages

Ferguson could end up doing a Scholes with Rooney and playing him next to Carrick in midfield, a job I think he could proabably start to excel in now with his experince. Plus, Rooney has a ping on him so he can spread balls around for fun and will play all over the pitch.

We cannot let them get Falcao, absolutlely no way! With Rooney in midfield and Falcao and RVP up front, that would result in Unite having a very formidable team.

I still have a feeling Aguero - if he plays to his potential and stays fit - will be the top gol scorer behind Messi and Ronaldo next season, Mancini just needs to build the team around him next season.

Affording falcao on top of rvp and rooney and still having 2 other young strikers who need game time. Work it out

How do you know he is or ever was a target, because the press said so, to me it has always seemed like suarez and cavani are our number 1 targets, he is indeed a good player no doubt and if united do sign him he will obviously become the best player in the world but we shall see!
