When he first came, and ran at players, I thought we had something special but for most of last season he seemed to have been instructed that he wasn't to go hell for leather for the byline but wait for the cavalry. It was never his kind of game. I'm delighted that he seems to have his mojo back!

How strong is he for a little lad? Never shirks his defensive duties either. Great game

I don't think he is that short anymore. Saw him at Southampton last season and was surprised how tall he is. Maybe had a growth spurt. Lads don't stop til 21 do they?

It's apparent he was given no guidance or tutilage last year. He looked like a lost sheep at times. I think it was Watford away, he was utterly wank because he didn't know what he was supposed to be doing and his confidence was shot because game after game he was just running round like he hadn't been told what the team's gameplan was or what his gameplan was. As a result even simple things like controlling the ball from a simple five yard pass or making a simple five yard pass was terrible.

I think his reaction to the final game at Swansea spoke volumes for that. "Get me out of this season, roll on next year"

Great performance against Sunderland. MoTM IMO.

I've not been a Sterling fan in the past - too inconsistent - but if you can perform as he did on Saturday on a consistent basis, he should start all season.
