I don't think he is that short anymore. Saw him at Southampton last season and was surprised how tall he is. Maybe had a growth spurt. Lads don't stop til 21 do they?
I stopped at 15

He was awesome yesterday. No bullshit he just got the ball and ran at the full like you see Ribery and Robben do. Just hope he keeps improving and doesn't go back to last seasons form as the talent is there

I wouldn't go that far mate. He played well but i think people are getting a bit carried away.
Playing against PVA helped. See also the performance of Navas (they swopped wings when he came on).

I was thinking the opposite if im honest, PVA is one of the quickest Full backs in the league so I was surprised when sterling out ran him a couple of times. He found it a bit easier against their right back as he wasn't as quick.

PVA is very quick but he is a shocking defender. He is OK going forward but he can't defend. Also at fault for our 2nd goal. He's a winger in my opinion not a defender.

I thought Sterling was our best player, and did very well, and I am very happy he did well because of all the criticism he has had, but I do think we need to factor into account the quality of the defender he was up against.

Just watched his 'every touch' video on the official website. Really good feature and an even better performance than I initially thought. Well worth taking a look.

I think the current system will suit him perfectly. With the full backs essentially becoming central midfielders when we have the ball it means the two wide attacking players need to stay wide. Obviously his ability to beat a man has always been there and his off the ball movement is improving all the time. That diagonal run between full back and centre back is something Sterling can get a lot of joy through.

Additionally, as he's mainly positioned out wide he'll rarely be involved in the more intricate passing play usually in the middle of the pitch which is clearly not going to be his strength. With some improvements to his finishing and final ball were going to end with an excellent player

When Gundogan gets back Sterling and Sane are gonna get a lot of balls pinged over to run onto and run at their fullback.

Dinho did a good job back there but his passing isn't on the level of Gundogan's

Having been critical last season, I'm very happy to have seen that performance by Stirling. Seeing him out wide and taking on his full back is exactly what he should have been asked to do last season, but, he just looked lost for 80% of the season.
Whilst the team is obviously a work still in progress, it's all an improvement imho - and especially so with Stirling - a goal or 2 soon and he'll be flying.
