Raheem Sterling | Arsenal Player (on loan)

Yeah, I don't get the hate for Sterling? We booed him and Palmer yesterday when the names were read out.
Odd that alot of our fans didn't rate Sterling but now boo him I thought they'd be happy he left
I don't get the booing of former players. Sterlling did a solid job for City and moved on when we didn't want him any more. Palmer has never said anything bad about City but he needed more regular football. That's life.

Haters gonna hate. Fucking morons.

I’ll never forget having to put a couple of clowns in their place who were giving him dogs abuse at the 0-0 Madrid SF. We’re playing in arguably the biggest match in our history and they’re sat there insulting a guy in a blue shirt. Unbelievable.

The lad ALWAYS put a shift in, helped us win loads of trophies and is high on our list of all time goal scorers.

So what’s to hate ? You have to assume that some of these idiots are influenced by the media’s at times shameful portrayal of Raz. And you have to assume that some of them are racist.

His best game for the last three seasons maybe, both he and Palmer were killing us yesterday. I could only wish Phil having a fractuion od self-confidence Palmer has. I just don't get hatred he gets from some of our supporters.
I thought his celebration was very toned down, because it is obvious now he's been hurting how we discarded him. I always liked him and I am extremely happy for him to get back to his old form, just he could've waited just for another week...little fecker! :)
Palmer is very good and is only gonna get better playing every week for Chelsea but he is only scoring penalties at the moment.
Just bear in mind it’s easier for him at the moment playing on the break
Top teams don’t play on the break though and as Chelsea improve they won’t be able to rely on this (that’s why United are so bad).
Same applies to sterling

My view is Cole is a fairly limited player. He is using his attributes to the best at the moments. He will get found out by the end of the season and will struggle for Chelsea next season.

Can't say for all of our fellow fans, but I've seen some on this forum get really bitter about a player's departure, it's bizarre. In the same season, Cancelo was praised to high heavens, but as soon as he departed to Bayern, he got called all sorts of names. As per usual, it's even worse on Twitter.

Cancelo loved his time with us and brings it up fondly, even has high praise for us fans. I think he'd be upset to see the amount of abuse he got by our own fans.

Sterling was our 2nd highest goalscorer under Pep and was a big part of our trophy hauls. Even at his worst, he still tries hard on the pitch. Yet from the remarks directed towards him post-departure, you would've thought he stunk up the place since the day he walked through the doors.

It's crazy.

Didn’t Cancelo have a big fallout with Pep?

Think that wasn't really confirmed, Cancelo did deny the bust-up however (it was about playing time he said), could all be journalists cooking up stories about a sudden player departure. Still, he did pay tribute to the fans on social media, and didn't say anything bad despite the boos.

I largely agree but with Sterling I think it was that he was so brilliant for a season or two and then his form just dropped like a stone and was, let's be honest, pretty awful for a good two seasons before he left.

If his City career was the other way round and he left on a massive high like Gundogan for example, who started his City career slowly and just go better and better and better with every game, I think the perception would be different.
