Raheem Sterling | Arsenal Player (on loan)

Still think hes best when playing with a striker.

He'll play more at Chelsea as hes the best attacker at the club
How does playing with a striker prevent the obvious face palm moments?

Anyhow this should really be in the general football forum as he no longer matters city wise.

He played more games under Pep than any other player. We have so many front six players who can play anywhere then of course they all can't play all the time.

Refreshingly honest comments. Nothing negative, just how he felt and why he had to leave.
Both parties have moved on.

Nothing wrong with what he said, he is a great lad. I respect him for wanting to play more football. He wasn't toxic last season and remained professional. There's plenty of players out there (especially over at the swamp) who aren't fussed about playing and will happily sit on the bench whilst being paid a bomb. Sterling is hungry, there's a WC coming up so fully respect his comments.

It seems like he didn’t understand what was going on at City or his own qualities.

We turned from that swashbuckling team in 2017-18 where he suited us and we suited him, to a team that had slowed down a bit and were a bit more technical and we needed a bit more quality in general play from him and he couldn’t deliver it so he lost his place.

His best performances for us have been with a focal point upfront. You only have to look at when we had Sane and Aguero and watching him at the euros with Kane upfront.
