[QUOTE"baildon blue, post: 8635905, member: 48893"]40 million and that's our final offer for him . Talking to Liverpool fan today he said Sterling value was about 20 million .
I have to say i agree with him .
Don't get me wrong he looks a promising player .
But he's not the real deal like Silva or Aguero .[/QUOTE]
No he isnt not yet but you couldnt buy either of them for under £70 million minimum these days. The other guy we loking at is he real deal in pogba and that is his price range. If walcott went for £15 million at 16 it gives you an idea of england player tax

That is an interesting comment - I cannot agree but worth another thread?. Any manager in mind?.
Let's face it Hodson is a safe man. Give the lads someone to inspire like Klopp and that group of youngsters is as good as any. Kane, Rooney, Sterling, Wilshere, Ox, Walcott, Henderson. The talent is there.

No, sadly with his agent I feel couple of years down the line same will happen again
That very well may be true, but couldn't you say that it was just as likely that if Liverpool would have made him an offer of 100K p/wk last year, none of this would have ever even happened?

He may be a greedy, punk kid but then again, maybe he's not. Personally, I say take the chance and find out.

How have we allowed ourselves to get into this position with home grown players? Without that we could tell Liverpool to piss off but instead they know we need him rather than go out and get a better player abroad for that price.

We could have got Schneiderlin last year instead of Fernando and that would have been a home grown player. We could have got a home grown back up keeper instead of Caballero. We could have got a home grown back up full back instead of Sagna. Plus doing more to keep Milner happy and we'd have a lot more leeway then.

Boom! Nail on head.

I don't really have any manager in mind. However, I'd be tempted to give the job to someone who has worked his way up the lower leagues. We need a passionate manager, someone who will pick players based on form rather than reputation. Merson had it spot on over Townsend's inclusion (despite him scoring against Italy). How can a player be picked when he has barely played in months over Young who was in form and arguably United's best player during their best period of the season?

There are a number of managers who get teams playing well in the Championship, get promoted but due to the financial imbalance of the PL go straight back down. Someone fresh like Howe or Dyche could be an interesting shout.

However, it seems that the FA would rather pick a yes man or a manager who is at best a decent PL manager. Allardyce, Pulis, Redknapp and Hodgson are all of a similar ilk. They are mid-table standard and are incapable of being anything more. Yet they are the safe bet.

In Joe Hart England have a keeper capable as being as good as any in Europe. Clyne, Smalling, Stones and Gibbs has potential to be a solid and fast back four. Sterling, Ox, Henderson, Lallana, Barkley, Ward-Prowse, Walcott, Wilshere all make an exciting midfield and Rooney, Sturridge, Berahino and Kane are as good a strike force as any in Europe.

The potential is clearly there we just need someone to unlock it.
