we only need the home grown quota for the squad not the first team. there's no need to pay over the odds for sterling when we could get isco and an English squad player for the same money. Keep him at Liverpool, he'll be half the price come next summer when he and Liverpool have another mediocre season.
that does mean we would have to create a place in the 17 none hg for Isco though.

I don't think realistically we'll land all three of our top targets. I still have a hunch Pogba will end up elsewhere. We have a free run at Sterling though, so should pay what it takes to get the deal done. If that's £40m + £5m in add-ons, then so be it.

He'll instantly go into our starting XI and improve the team. There are no other homegrown players of his calibre available, and he ticks many boxes (pace, age, nationality etc).

Really hope we get this deal done, and think we will.

You've been spending too much time with my brother then!

No guarantee we could get Isco, and what's the point of buying squad players when we already have enough of those... Also no guarantee we get Sterling when his price tanks and we leave him to rot away for a year... It's too late now to wait on him

The point of buying squad players is because we need the home grown quota. bump some of the young international lads out in favour for young English ones and this gives us scope to upgrade the first team with genuine world beaters

Why do people assume Isco is available?! Madrid have shown no inclination to sell, and would probably ask for a similar fee to Sterling if they did let him go.

Well, Isco or whoever, point is there is better than Sterling out there for cheaper

I get it I'm just saying we've tried that (rodwell etc) and it doesn't work... If anything leave space for our youngsters

Completely agree. The only potential fly in the ointment for me is if Chelsea sell Oscar, who's rumoured to be interesting Juventus. Other than them though, we've got a pretty open run. The dippers won't sell to the rags, Arsenal and Chelsea (currently) have a plethora of quick, mobile, tricky attacking midfielders already and make it unlikely they would shell out £45m on another, and I don't think the player would go to Madrid to sit on the bench behind Bale, Ronaldo and Rodriguez.

Give them the money they want. Wait 24 hours then buy Clyne. Wait another 24 hours then pay cash for all those houses Liverpool are trying ruin for their expansion plan. They are worth about 100 grand each. Offer the families 300 grand to sell now. That's Liverpool fucked once and for all, unless they pay half a billion for an entirely new stadium. Lastly we send an email mail saying don't you ever fucker with us again you fucking jumped up low life.

yep...........works for me!!!!

well stop mard-arsing around saying it's not value for money when you have no knowledge of our business plan, no knowledge of any breakdown of our transfer spending and no knowledge of the negotiations, or level of responsibility or any sort of say or influence about how much which isn't yours should be spent.

I don't see you buy a car, or a house, and moan "oh, well that's not value for money, shouldn't have bought that". It's tiresome, and a complete non-argument.

Shut the forum nobody is aloud an opinion
