He's worth whatever the club think he's worth. Be it 50 million, 100 million or 5 million.
I am totally confident that we are playing this cleverly and will get a price we accept
The problem is, if we did leave it till next year or the year after when he would cost half the amount or walk on a free respectively, there would be a he'll of a lot more clubs with serious interest in him.
We'd have to be sure in that situation that he wouldn't choose a chelsea/arsenal/real/bayern etc over us if we did choose that path. Probably best to just up our bid by £5 or £10 mill now if we want him, if that increase would have little to no implications on other targets of course.
Jesus Christ of course he's fuckin worth it,have some people not seen the price of English talent and he's the best one out there and only 20.Who In the right fuckin mind thinks he's only worth £25 million !
It's really bugging me hearing loads of blues going "he isn't worth X, we should walk away" etc. You have no concept of the money or the difference between £35 and £40m. You're looking at it like a number on Top Trumps, or a stick to potentially be neaten with by rival fans and the media.
If he is the right player for the team, and I think he is, then the money shouldn't worry you as a fan. There's a gamble with every transfer but we need to sit back and trust Soriano, Khaldoon etc to do the sums and the negotiation. The figures in the press are unlikely to be accurate anyway, bearing in mind that one of the carrots City offer selling clubs is cash up front.
Can you find me a direct quote from City which says that please !!!It might not be our money, and we can bang on about inflation, the price of a Mars bar in the 80's or a fuckin' Fiat Punto but it's also not our club. The seat we pay a lot of money to sit in every home game, isn't actually our seat. But we've been brought up to love the club and consider it our own. So when Liverpool come trying to take the piss out of us, I for one say "fuck em!" My money or not. The club might have bags of money and are in need of home grown talent, however, Sterling doesn't want to be at Liverpool! So we both have good reasons to come to a reasonable deal. We've said 'take it or leave it' now, we should stick to it imo.
That's how I see it. His age means that if he fulfills that potential, and I think MCFC are right that he has it in spades, then he could potentially give us five trophy winning years, generate mountains of corporate, sponsorship and bums-on-seats cash, and then be sold for double that. Or give us an entire career.
Absolutely agree, yet all the rags at work cannot see that. KnobsThe rags have paid 30 mil for a fucking fullback, who can't even get in the England team, purely because he's young & English. They paid 60 mil for DiMaria.
So consequently, everything else is now proportionally fucked. None of these people are 'worth it' but we just have to operate within the shite they have created, as has been the case for everyone in this country as the wankers have contimually inflated transfers & wages since even before the Champions League was invented. They bought their first title by paying hugely over the odds for mainly home countries players & have maintained that m.o. to this day.
No point in people arguing about Sterling, or Barkley etc. They have set the price.
