I wonder whether the fact that Melville Road is utter sh*t with its 3 pitches versus the CFA being awesome had any bearing on this?

And CFA has a huge outdoor pool...look :)

The cynical/practical way which i look at the fee:

Raheem is a speedster. i would guess his career would be at a level where he could be an important player on a team which is challenging for honours for 9 seasons or two knee surgeries (whichever comes first).
So if we get a top level player who fights for trophies (and his place in the starting lineup) for 9 seasons, the fee averages to less than 6M per season presuming that he hits all of the add-on bonuses (which i hope he does).
A bargain for a foreign player, let alone an english one.

add the fact they (liverpool) wouldn't even sell for 50 million in normal circumstances you'd agree that it was a good deal for us. the mere fact that we poached a rival team's go-to guy makes it a good enough deal for us regardless of the price because if everything was ok between the player and club, they wouldn't ever ever sell to us. and whats all the fuss about this transfer? not long ago manure wanted to sign harry kane for 45 million pounds and they would have if tottenham had not vehemently resisted the move. to the media it wasn't a big deal then but this one is a hell of a biggie! does hypocricy get any worse?
I agree mate, when the rags offer 45 mill for a player, it's because they are "The Bestist, massivist club in the world ever,..."who's "bestist"fans have a divine right to demand succes, whatever the cost.

If we do likewise, it's because we are a bunch of "show off Sh*houses"

Regrettably it seems that this will always be the media's stance on us whatever we do.

Can't see him lasting 9 years, got to be honest.
As long as he helps us win things for 3 seasons I'll be happy. If he turns out to be dross and we lose a packet on him, then I'll be unhappy.

I suspect the medical was early doors. .. I drove past the stadium around 8.30 this morning on the way to work. There was more activity and bodies around than normal around the academy entrance.
This could have been down to any of a number of reasons but I prefer to put two and two together and make five. ...

In fairness most Liverpool fans will be just as disgusted, these sort of vermin infest sites like twitter, half of those posting that shit have probably never been near Anfield.
I accept that but this specific Liverpool fan needs locking up before he can actually hurt anyone.

I read on a dipper forum that Sterling gets £4M of the transfer fee as a loyalty bonus as he didn't put in a formal transfer request. If you also knock off the £9M going to QPR and the £5M add ons, that means the dippers will actually be getting around £31M. Don't know how true the loyalty bonus is but it would explain why the dippers were holding out for £50M.

You guys are really defensive. It was a question about youth development at your club and Pellegrini, and some of you have reacted like its the most insane question youve ever heard.

If your saying City doesnt have that problem, at all, definitely not, then I think youre turning a blind eye to it.

Heres another way of looking at it. At ages 20-23 , still immature , he would probably be better off under Rodgers and Wenger. When hes developed as a player, thats the time to be playing at City.

David Silva aged 20 moving to City would not have been as right as Silva aged 24 moving City.
Yeah Sterling should have stayed at Liverpool and been 'nurtured' by one of European football's master tacticians, A man that has poured trophies into the clubs cabinet in his short reign......oh hang on.

He won't hurt anyone most of these cunts are brave as fuck sat in their reg grundies while tapping away on their keyboard but most of em in reality are fuckin cowards, still needs prosecuting though for threats idle or not to a 3 year old child.

If you look hard enough, it is possible to find someone on RAWK who doesn't sing from the same hymn sheet as the rest of the cultists and provides an honest and earnest assessment.

No actually I am talking about pure statistics. Raheem at 20 years of age has 129 appearances for Liverpool, Stevie had roughly 60-70 at the same age (20 and a half). And how ever difficult it might be for you to understand, Messi had 26 goals for barca at the same age after 3 seasons, Raheem's got 23. It would be easier to discuss if people could actually read. I wouldn't expect many sensible reactions comparing Sterling who everyone hates to Gerrard who is as big of a legend anyone will ever be, but another fact is Sterling at 20 years has 129 appearances and 23 goals, Gerrard had 94 and 11 and he was 21 when his third season ended. If these are not comparable and don't flatter Sterling then I don't know what will.

Anyway my point was to highlight the unfortunate loss of a great talent in the middle of this Sterling-bashing and how overpriced he is and how we came away as winners in this. Next time I'll remember to wear a blindfold like many others in here.
