@ernestikosonen Post them uncopyrighted losing my job in the process & City thousands of pounds when newspapers rip them off here?no thanks

He's a bluffer. Nobody in the industry would use the term 'uncopyrighted'. Besides copyright and the usage rights are two different things (although interlinked).
Newspapers can't use those images if they are leaked (not legally).
If he's not a bluffer, he can only be a lacky due to his lack of knowledge on the subject matter.

I think in part you're right...the next gen of fans will be the glory hunting type

The plucky underdog types will move on to other North West clubs like Liverpool and Nited

There's definitely some truth in this, but it's a small price to pay.

I don't even live in Manchester any more. I live in Yorkshire, and my boys play football for a couple of teams. In the younger age groups there are tons of City shirts now, possibly second only to Barcelona. As soon as you get to the over 10s, it's all united and Liverpool.

I'm eternally gratefully that my boy's introduction to City was through a great team and glory. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be for Dads to have taken their sons to City, to find them bored and not interested, and maybe even support other clubs.

I've always thought that some of us older fans have something in our psyche that made us choose an underdog (depending on precisely when you chose City), whilst lots of Liverpool and more latterly United fans took the easy option.
However, as much as I love that young kids are wearing City shirts in big numbers these days, I do wonder if we're attracting the same types of fan who WOULD have chosen Liverpool or United in the past, and the 'underdog' fans we previously attracted are now attracted to someone else?

I always tell them they're the same kind of people who would have been first in the queue to join the Hitler Youth - that usually sends them into orbit.

But you're right, plenty of kids will now go for City for the same reasons.

TBH mate, I started out as a young football fan living in a non footballing household so I just supported the best team at the time who were Liverpool. In the mid-late 70's my older cousin who I really looked up to asked me why I supported Liverpool and I replied because we're the best team and Kevin Keegan played for us.

My cousin asked if I'd ever been to Liverpool, I said no. He then asked if I even knew where about in the UK Liverpool was, I said no. So he asked 'so why support a team you know nothing about apart from what you see on the telly?' So I asked him 'so who should I support' and he said City, its your local club and you know where they are.

So that was it for me, even though I always had a soft spot for Liverpool, I switched my allegiance at a very young and impressionable age which wasn't difficult as this was probably during City's heyday. But from the early 80's until 2008 I've had a mostly miserable time of it, so thanks for that cous!!! Lol :-)

Tbh, supporting City has been character building and probably explains why I hate bullys and always side witb and seek to protect those unable to look after themselves. Lord knows I've been through the mill with City, but my faith and dedication has been admirable rewarded amd nothing illustrates this more than the transfer of Raheem Sterling to City which has truly shown we are now a bigger club than Liverpool in all respects and that is something I never thought I'd be able to say in my lifetime.

Hi Dribble, enjoyed reading your post mate!;)

Are they regurgitating the £200k line as well? If so I'll wait for the club announcement.

It seems unlikely the club will actually announce his wages will they? It'll be the usual "Sky sources" etc. bullshit and it will end up double the real figure.

Yes Liverpool fans and ex players may scoff that we were rinsed by the Dippers, but at the end of the day they know that this deal represents a paradigm shift in English football, namely that Manchester City Football Club purchased Liverpool's best player and most saleable asset and aside from them putting a sky high price on the players head, there was nothing they could do to stop us.

That is what latently worries them and what is driving their hatred of the player and ire towards us. They've haven't been in this position since the very early 70's and it hurts to now know that City, Arsenal, Chelsea and ManUre are now a bigger more enticing prospect to players than Liverpool are, and in reality they are in a battle with Spurs for the accolade of being the best of the rest so no wonder it hurts them.

I spoke to one Dipper yesterday who was honest enough to admit this. This isn't just about Sterling, its about Suarez and Torres too and the realisation that Liverpool can no longer claim to be dining at the top table in European football let alone English football based on their current standing in the game. They have well and truly been surplanted by Manchester City and us buying their best player for a record fee is the final piece of proof of who and what Liverpool are in the modern game where 'istree' will get you knowhere with players who weren't even born the last time you won a domestic title.......
This and all of this. Absolutely nailed it.
