I’m pretty certain that’s Vuosowho is this?
OiNot read the whole thread but do remember being on the kippax with fellas saying “ who the fck is Barry Conlan”
For me he went missing too often in matches, yes he was capable of great moments of skill and scored a few belters for the youth sides but that can never be enough at the very top level, a bigger contribution is needed. One of my favourite young players of recent years. I honestly can't believe he never 'made it' at top level.
Me too Daley away at Bolton, Mcilroy away at CoventryOr what about Sammy McIlroy?

Looks good in blue, eh?
;-)
One of my greatest achievements as a Citeh fan is seeing him and Steve Daley actually score for us. Honest to God, they did!
Er; not in the same game, obviously!
Spot on! McIlroy was the opening game of the season, iirc. Daley was around nov/dec time?Me too Daley away at Bolton, Mcilroy away at Coventry
Ron Futcher scored a hat-trick in a 4-1 win at Chelsea in September 1978.Not so much Paul Futcher, but his twin brother Ron signed for us as well in 1978. Paul centre half and Ron a centre forward. I was a regular spectator back then but I can barely remember either of them. Ron was sold to Oldham within a year.
(I was just reading about them in the online City Magazine. Completely forgot them>)
I remember seeing him play for City , he was signed for £2000 from Ashton United .My mate is an historian on Ashton and he showed me the letters they had to send to City asking for the money ,he said it took months for us to pay the fee.Was watching the Big Match on telly yeaterday, luton v city 1975. Barney Daniels at number 9.
How the fuck did that happen then? Did he win a competition?
