I was at that game, don't remember anything about the match at all!
Apart from Fitzroy Simpson played for us and he'd got tickets for two females in the crowd who'd he said hello to at start of the match..
No one had ever seen the two women before ,and mumbling about how they managed to get tickets in an 800 only away allocation.
The reason was obvious!
I was there too. I seem to remember we were all taking the piss out of Rick Holden, singing 'Rick Holden was no. 1, Rick Holden was no. 2, etc'

That’s nothing; I actually saw Adrian Heath score.

In the first home game of the 90/91 season, against Everton. It was also my first ever game at Maine Road.

One of a pathetic return of six goals in 88 games for the Blues.
I was there for that and remember the guy behind me saying" you were meant to sky it you little twat" and had a few of us pissing our sides.

Oi!! I like Ricky Holden . .genuine. always liked wingers who had such good ball control that they didn't have to rely on just pace....
Watched him destroy our defence for Oldham at Maine Rd when he set up a couple of goals by slinging in really high crosses from the left wing ,which Roger Palmer with his "Stretch Armstrong' neck dispatched past our keeper in a 4-1 win for Oldham.palmer got 3 that day.

I also enjoyed watching him play for City, cos he didn't even look like a footballer, not athletic, but he could cross a ball and for a short period in our history the 'Holden cross,Quinn towering header at the far post' was an effective attacking ploy for us.
Anyone remember the away chant
'weve got Tricky Ricky Ricky Holden on the wing ,on the wing !!'

It never REALLY took off..... obviously...but it was me and a mate from Wales who started that chant. And I'm proud of it, lol!!

Also this guy i think - Dave Morley. Me and the old man went to Bury one night and he scored a goal on his debut in a 1-1 in 1997 never to be seen again.
I was at that match. I remember Morley ,didn't think at the time he'd make it with us,tall lean centre back, comfortable on the ball...actually ,we could do with him now.!

Fashanu is a great shout - He actually came on a trial during 87-88 under Mel Machin but didn't win a deal and returned during 89-90 to play a few first team games from the bench, Villa at home and 0-6 at Derby I think, he was prolific in the reserves including a hat-trick against United but just couldn't seem to get fit.
I never knew fashanu scored a hatrick against utd reserves!!
I was City daft at the time so not sure how I missed that one.

I did see him play for us away at Derby County in the 6nil drubbing..one of the worst days of my life .6nil to Derby ?
Wow.he wasn't t much cop for us,shortlived City career
Would that be around the time Bet Lynch got hold of him and took around certain nightclubs in Manchester...
