I was there too. I seem to remember we were all taking the piss out of Rick Holden, singing 'Rick Holden was no. 1, Rick Holden was no. 2, etc'I was at that game, don't remember anything about the match at all!
Apart from Fitzroy Simpson played for us and he'd got tickets for two females in the crowd who'd he said hello to at start of the match..
No one had ever seen the two women before ,and mumbling about how they managed to get tickets in an 800 only away allocation.
The reason was obvious!
If he played every game since then he would still be in single figuresWayne Clarke brother of Alan he played about 20 times i cant remember seeing him score though although ive just read he scored a late diving header at Forest
I was there for that and remember the guy behind me saying" you were meant to sky it you little twat" and had a few of us pissing our sides. That’s nothing; I actually saw Adrian Heath score.
In the first home game of the 90/91 season, against Everton. It was also my first ever game at Maine Road.
One of a pathetic return of six goals in 88 games for the Blues.
There’s only one William WilliamsBill Williams.
We bought him from County.
County fans talked like he was prime Beckenbauer.
He played 45 mins at Ipswich and then we sold him back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oi!! I like Ricky Holden . .genuine. always liked wingers who had such good ball control that they didn't have to rely on just pace....I was there too. I seem to remember we were all taking the piss out of Rick Holden, singing 'Rick Holden was no. 1, Rick Holden was no. 2, etc'
Gifted Arteta a goal that almost cost us the titleTalking of Mancini ..he signed a lad from Italy for us centre mid surname Pizzaro ? Only on loan I think
Very tidy neat Italian, didn't stay long and don't think he was too popular but I liked watching him play ,very stylish.
I was at that match. I remember Morley ,didn't think at the time he'd make it with us,tall lean centre back, comfortable on the ball...actually ,we could do with him now.!Also this guy i think - Dave Morley. Me and the old man went to Bury one night and he scored a goal on his debut in a 1-1 in 1997 never to be seen again.
I never knew fashanu scored a hatrick against utd reserves!!Fashanu is a great shout - He actually came on a trial during 87-88 under Mel Machin but didn't win a deal and returned during 89-90 to play a few first team games from the bench, Villa at home and 0-6 at Derby I think, he was prolific in the reserves including a hat-trick against United but just couldn't seem to get fit.
