Moving forward to where exactly, with no money to buy or pay better players. If they find an alternative sum to allow a forward trajectory great. Where is this £1m per year coming from? If anybody thinks they are going to move anywhere but backwards, if they turn down that kind of money without identifying another income stream, they haven’t a fucking clue about business or football.
No, perhaps it's your lack of clue on how a business works and not theirs.
I'll explain, but I've no doubt the fingers will be firmly placed in your earhole so I'm not holding out any hope of understanding.
The 'quick fix' of financial income from any potential extra old firm fans is quickly diminished. Increased costs on stewarding, Policing, catering staff and covering the inevitable damage to the seats and pitch which occur on almost every occassion the two cheeks pay a visit.
In addition - the match day experience for home fans is much poorer. The family stand pre match activities would end, supporters would be reallocated from a seat which they paid £300+ to have and the disability access would be cut off from the home support.
Further than this, the fact a local business is prepared to put its regular customers first, ie it's own supporters and season ticket holders, is pivotal in any aspect of growth. Hence why they have 5,000 season ticket holders this season. Small potatoes in comparison, but the largest of any non city club in Scotland and infact larger than a couple of city clubs (St Johnstone and Dundee) too.
Old firm fans occupying 2 ends of a stadium puts off a section of home supporters from attending - that's been notable probably at Kilmarnock than at any other club in Scotland when the home support is regularly lower for these fixtures than fixtures against every other side in the league. It puts off potential season ticket holders who can't be fucked with the hassle.
Looking after the home support first and foremost is key and should be applauded, it reaps financial benefits in the long run. The whining and bitching from entitled old firm supporters about how clubs choose to look after their own fans is embarrassing.
