Rate The Season

This really ought to have been one of those threads where you say your bit and don't comment on others. The individual opinions are very interesting. The rest is pointless, depressing bullshit.

I don't think there's much between us and Chelsea despite what the media say. Don't forget we scored a lot more goals than them and also had a superior goal difference which doesn't reflect well on Chelsea. If you look at our finish to the season for the last 4 years we've finished very strongly and I'd imagine that's down to only playing one game per week.

Hard to say more than 5 or 6. Not an unmitigated disaster, but fairly poor overall.

League 7/10 - What could have been. Manager didn't work out how to setup the team until it was too late. Should have won the title.
Europe 6/10 - terrible group stage then knocked out by a Barca side, it turns out, many vastly underrated.
Cups 1/10 - Really, really disappointing.

Overall a 6

Overall for me it is a 6.5.

The biggest disappointment was letting Chelsea have such an easy 2nd half of the season at getting their hands on the title. Poor in the cups and we have struggled again in Europe.

6/10. Winning our last 6 games of the season when the title was already gone doesnt gloss over what has been a pretty poor season.
dismal in both the carling and league cups. So inconsistent in the league, dropping points regularly against out top 4 rivals and bottom half teams. losing 9 points against the 3 relegated sides in the league was unforgivable. champions league wasnt too bad, we were just unfortunate to come up against the best team in the world and ultimately faired not too badly.
But all in all, a pretty poor season

It's been a poor season, we barely challenged Chelsea since the turn of the year so those 2 awards (which are great for the individuals) paper over the cracks and winning the last 6 after already handing the title to Chelsea is the least we could have done

A poor season is where Liverpool finished.
You do realise we have aspirations that are greater than Liverpool.

Finishing 6th would be a colossal fucking disaster never mind a poor season

No he doesn't. We are England's equivalent of Barca up against one other super team with maybe Arsenal as Atleti.

So just like Barca last year under Martino, our owners will see this season as a piss poor effort league wise. It may or may not cost Pelle his job, but those are our ambitions these days.

6/10 and that's being generous.

Does not compute.
You mean 4.66666666666

Easy to be disappointed with a trophyless season these days, but we've all had another year of watching David Silva weave magic and cause havoc in some of the world's best defences, watched Aguero score 32 times, seen a real football man (Lampard) come here and be taken aback by what a classy club we are, finished 9 points ahead of the rags, scored the most goals in the league and finished the season strongly to set us up for a good summer (hopefully) and a good start to next season.

Wish we'd have been bothered to defend a bit during the middle of the season, and it might have been a different story now, but you can't win every season.

I'd give it a 7/10 (more good times than bad).
