One thing i have noticed is that when the going gets tough, we have a tendency to completely collapse. The mentality, despite how fantastic a team we are, is very questionable.
When C4 televised Serie A games on a Sunday they always chalked up the ball-in-play time. 'Twas the exception if the game got to over 60minutes of the being in play!
I didn’t sleep a wink, kept seeing their players names in my head over and over. That’s got to be the worst result we’ve suffered in my days and I’m 57.I'm only just emerging... I've taken the day off work & avoided all contact with the outside world because the hurt is so fuckin deep.
Moments before their equaliser I wondered if it was safe to dare to dream of Paris & then **BANG**! From then I knew it was over. When their 2nd went in my body went cold. When they got the penalty I felt sick.
We did what we needed to & Real were poor overall, but I knew the attacking threat they posed & their ability to score a goal out of nothing was going to present a danger until the final whistle. Don't get me started on 6 fuckin minutes either!
Bernardo was far & away my MoTM. He was everywhere & ran the show. The whole team were brilliant overall, but there was something off with KDB all night & I predicted he'd be substituted because he looked fucked after 15 minutes.
For their first goal, Ederson waited for the ball to come to him & in a flash Rodrygo stole in & turned the ball past him. For their aggregate equaliser, he rose like a fuckin salmon & not even a brick wall was gonna stop that bullet header. For the penalty, I swear Dias's studs touched the ball, but VAR gave it.
To get to within 8 mins of the Champions League Final with no strikers & such a small squad is nothing short of amazing. Hopefully we'll resolve the striker issue, get a world class CDM & a right back as understudy to Walker because I see Cancelo as a better Left Back than Right.
I'm gutted, but it's gone. Newcastle is a massive game on Sunday, & it would have been regardless of last night's result. We gotta pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, lick our wounds & go again.
We were by far the better team, but in football you don't win points for performances, it's all about putting the ball in the onion bag. In this respect Real did it 6 times & we only managed it 5. There's our problem & it's been our issue for the last 2-3 seasons.
Last night was the epitome of a match where a world class strikeforce would have create something from nothing & possibly made the difference. We'll hopefully plug these holes for next season. For now it's all about Newcastle. )(
Mate pls spare me the sentiment. Big UCL night's the same players have costs us game. It's all good winning games against Everton and Watford but we need big performances in big games like yesterday, and when you look back at all our last UCL exits its the same 3 players that have made BIG ERRORS leading to us losing.
What match were you watching? I watched the one where there was 88 seconds between the two goals. First was his mistake and he compounds it from the restart by gifting them possession back, from which they score…just like he did at home to Liverpool a few weeks ago…hoofed the ball back and they score from
I wonder how many big games Ederson will cost us before people realise he is an atrocious goal-keeper.What match were you watching? I watched the one where there was 88 seconds between the two goals. First was his mistake and he compounds it from the restart by gifting them possession back, from which they score…just like he did at home to Liverpool a few weeks ago…hoofed the ball back and they score from the same play.
He is the identikit Pep player, but his starts are gradually reducing. He may want more game time ?gundo is tidy intelligent player. Hope he and Pep stick around for a bit longer.
We need at least one nasty c#nt in there. One thing i have noticed is that when the going gets tough, we have a tendency to completely collapse. The mentality, despite how fantastic a team we are, is very questionable.
Should have hypnotised yourself.I didn’t sleep a wink, kept seeing their players names in my head over and over. That’s got to be the worst result we’ve suffered in my days and I’m 57.
I just hope the players & Peps heads don’t drop but I fear they will and we’ll end the season with nothing, all the bullshit media against us time after time must surely be starting take its toll, I know it has with me.
Always a Blue but feeling down and out today.
Mistakes happen fine, but when it's the same players making the same mistakes time and time again then there's a serious problem.Mistakes happen all the time. RM made "mistakes" but won... How do you explain that?
We made mistakes against AM but still won. Lfc fuck up all the time but still manage to win. Mistakes can be reduced, to ours and lfc's level but they ALWAYS happen.. It's whether luck is for or against you in those (reduced) fuck up moments
Last nights game was just bad luck, dodgy ref, and RM. Another night we win that.
If we had a nasty c#nt you know he'd get 5 red cards a seasonWe need at least one nasty c#nt in there.
I'm 61 and the result is making me feel ill. I also hardly slept.I didn’t sleep a wink, kept seeing their players names in my head over and over. That’s got to be the worst result we’ve suffered in my days and I’m 57.

Exactly, very fishy wasn't it?Where did the (at least) six minutes of extra time go to from after extra time? And why blow up early?
It was obvious (even to me) that all we needed to do was play keep ball, take no chances in giving the ball away and if necessary kick it into row z.Agree we were unlucky with Walker but jn terms of poor game management that is correct.Everything went well for 80 mins, we got the goal and that is when we should have started phase 2 of successful game management and started feigning injury, running the ball into the corners, tactical time wasting subs, etc. Guardiola should look at Madrid and how they managed the game in extra time. But if he is one of the so called greats surely he should know this by now ? Instead of running the ball into corners and time wasting we had the likes of Cancelo crossing the ball, which Courtois caught and they went straight up the other end and scored.Utterly abysmal game management ! These things are what make the difference and are part of the game. Our naivety has cost us yet again.
Only downfall in your argument is that Ederson was and continues to be one of the main reasons we can play the style and level of football we play, a style and level which has helped us win the last two PL titles (and hopefully a consecutive third) and get to the final and semi final of the CL. So without him we likely wouldn't be even playing the game last night for the mistake to be made in the first place. He is a human being not a robot, people make mistakes, he makes mistakes, we all make mistakes. He is probably in the top 3 keepers in the world, who else would you bring in who is, a) better than him, b) doesn't fundamentally change the way we play, in terms of him pretty much playing as an outfield player and allowing us to confidently break presses from the back? There just isn't anyone better. Everyone makes mistakes, even if you think he was to blame, surely he deserves more chances. What match were you watching? I watched the one where there was 88 seconds between the two goals. First was his mistake and he compounds it from the restart by gifting them possession back, from which they score…just like he did at home to Liverpool a few weeks ago…hoofed the ball back and they score from the same play.
Speak for yourself, I think he is an awful player and keeping the ball is exactly what he doesn’t do.We all love Raheem, but is he ever going to become the deadly player in the box we anticipated ? He's another one who plays Pep's 'keep the ball on one side of the pitch to draw the opponents out of shape' to perfection. At his age, he'll want more game time.
Could care about ananlysis now we are out and can’t quite come to terms especiallly will all the crap in the media today
