I think a lot of people need to watch the full 90 minutes back as soon as they come out tomorrow. They’re making the nerves from the pressure and the cagey nature of the game dictate their end of game analysis.

Watch that game back with the comfort of already knowing the result and you’ll see how good we were tonight.

It was redders (‘no air in the stadium’ was mentioned three times), it was a very cagey tight game with two teams being excellent but also very cautious of each others’ quality.

In games like this both teams are going to give the ball away a lot because both teams read the game so well so can intercept or shut down the space. You have to just roll with that.

After what happened there last season, I thought we were mindful and tried to control the game to a pace that didn’t suit Madrid. Even so they were very good and we were very good.
 
A great result, that. Slight frustration that a few players weren't taken off, because they looked knackered. But that's a small complaint in the grand scheme of things as I'd definitely back us to get a win at the Etihad.

I have to agree on some (30 %) degree but disagree on the other.

I understand Pep that did not want us to attack normally. Because this requires energy that we don't have/will need for PL fight for the tittle, and because this risks counterattacks that this was what Real Madrid hope and are good at.
Secondly Silva did not "have" Camavinga, so it's not that Pep restricted Silva but that Camavinga was too paced and strong for Silva to pass him.

About Grealish well he could have tried more things I agree, as also the whole team could be more brave but I think it's a strategy for gaining the most valuable thing this time, energy for hunting PL and CL(and FA Cup also).

And I think it worked, we did not really spend too much energy for that 1-1. And 1-1 there is very good. Now CL final will be decided at Etihad and that's great.
Before that we have to win Everton though and I think with this not big effort of tonight and 4.5 days of resting time, we should play our best team possible and give everything to win and if all goes well, rest Rodri, KDB, Gundogun after 70 minutes or so. And then 2.5 days for Real Madrid is almost enough time to get a small rest and then give everything.

As for your last paragraph, well with Pep we went to the final 2 years ago and were 1 step to win it, we went last year to semi final and were 0.1 step to go to the final, and now we are 1 step to the final also. Consistency is unreal. So it's unfair and strange to think we are so far away to win it under Pep.
 
Well played City. A great result really. Madrid are masters in Europe and parked the bus so it was very difficult to break them down. Well defended City and Ederson was excellent. 2 brilliant goals. Over to the etihad fortress where hopefully God will will it.

Couldn't give a flying fuck if it was out or not. About time we got a bit of luck in Europe.
