His previous with the two clubs is...

Napoli 2-1 City
Real Madrid 2-0 Ajax
Real Madrid 3-0 Lyon

Oh no someone else who obviously hates us..........

It's just not fair.

Hansen in disguise!

The Rags would be awarded a penalty.

They're gonna get us,just a matter of time,i tell ya...!!!

Quite a few of you seems to be of the opinion that City should go all out and attack Madrid. But i think they should do the opposite - sit back and attack on the break. Madrid's is the best counter attacking team in world football today and it would be suicidal to play direct attacking football against them.

For those people who still are of that opinion please see this clip - this was last year's champions league match b/w Real Madrid and Ajax - just shows how deadly they can be on the counter - involves 5-6 madrid players - they scores the goal in a 10-12sec counter - but the most breath-taking stat is this : they did it 7 ONE TOUCH PASSES.

Now this isn't a one-off situation and have done this countless times. So its way better to sit back and counter attack against them than opening up the midfield and defense for them to showcase one of these moves.

I CANNOT F***ING WAIT!

All i want is for us to do is to put on a great performance, I won't mind if we lose then, if we play shit and then lose i'll be pissed.

Pretty optimistic but i'm going for a high scoring game.

Real Madrid 2 - Manchester City 3

Goal difference means nothing in these groups if level at the end of the group stage it goes on head to head. There's no way that we'll finish level for joint 2/3 with Real (if level 1/2 it doesn't matter that much if we finish 1 or 2) so it doesn't matter in that respect if we get battered.

Rather than go for the 0-0 deep defence option which I think Bob will go for I'd rather we took the game to them. They were caught cold on Saturday and attack is our best form of defence.

I'm going for an optimistic 3-1....and a lie down.;)

Sevilla scored the goal on a corner - real have serious issues at defending set pieces - however the corner was a consequence of a mistake from casillas in the first place - and sevilla never really took the game to madrid - it was more about absorbing the pressure and retaliating - which should be what city also should look at rather than going for broke, which in my opinion plays into real's hands and their game plan.

Re: How do we approach the Madrid game?

Past the plaza de lima, along the calle de rafael salgado, thru the turnstiles and then just look for you block/row/seat

Why?

It would be nice for you to actually give a reason for your statement.

I do think he will play with three at the back and allow Maicon and Kolarov to push forward as much as possible. This is were they are at their strongest.

Having Garcia and Barry in the centre would protect the middle of the park and allow Yaya to push forward in support of Tevez and Dzeko.

I wouldn't trust Balotelli in this match and I would also leave Silva and Nasri out.

Most probably if he does go three at the back Garcia will play there, Yaya deeper and Silva in support of the front two.
I agree, I don't see the problem with your team especially as Slva is playing gash at the moment.

Maybe it's just my screen but it looks like you are playing 5 at the back, Rodwell is your right CD, there is no width and Dzeko will not start.

Maicon and Kolarov would push forward giving the width to the team.

Unlikely to be this exact team, but I do believe he will go with three central defenders on Tuesday.

I'll be kacking my pants if we play with three at the back. leaves us really open to counter attacks, something that Real Madrid specialise in.

I myself can't really decide on what team/formation to use at all

I think our usual 442 will be too open. Remember Bayern and Napoli in the CL?

Extra man in midfield will be key imo.

Maicon-----Kompany-----Lescott-----Clichy
--------------Garcia-----GB/JR---------------
--------Silva-------Touré-------Nasri--------
--------------------Tevez---------------------

I would start Tevez, and swap him straight for Kun, whose pace will be more effective against tired legs.

If Bobby plans to start Kun, I would drop Nasri all together. Silva may not be at his best, but Nasri cannot control the game, and solve a lost game like Silva can.
