The biggest factor will be playing Champions League in front of 80000 at the Bernabau.

Maicon was bought for his experience on nights like this. He will play.
Kolarov is on fire and has a dead ball potential. He will play.
Barry played 30 mins without trouble. He will play.
Aguero has been declared fit and he knows exactly what to expect. He will play.
Garcia has champions league pedigree. He will play.

SO

Hart
Maicon Vinnie Lescott Kolarov
Garcia Barry
Ya Ya
Tevez. Silva
Kun

This midfield will get he better of Kheidera Modric Alonso. I can only see three points for us with this line up. Forza!

Gotta say I like the look of that team, but thinking towards Arsenal ?

Kolarov wont play in a 4 man defence against Madrid

i worry about a gubbing, not because they are significantly better , but i see decent teams going to madrid or barcelona and letting the occasion get to them and losing 4-0 the first time they go there.

maybe....

but we have more outfield players in our team with experience of winning a major european trophy than Real Madrid have:

City: CL winners: Tevez / Yaya / Maicon / Balotelli
Europa League: Aguero

RM: CL winners: Casillas / Alonso / Ronaldo

Quite a few of you seems to be of the opinion that City should go all out and attack Madrid. But i think they should do the opposite - sit back and attack on the break. Madrid's is the best counter attacking team in world football today and it would be suicidal to play direct attacking football against them.

For those people who still are of that opinion please see this clip - this was last year's champions league match b/w Real Madrid and Ajax - just shows how deadly they can be on the counter - involves 5-6 madrid players - they scores the goal in a 10-12sec counter - but the most breath-taking stat is this : they did it 7 ONE TOUCH PASSES.

Now this isn't a one-off situation and have done this countless times. So its way better to sit back and counter attack against them than opening up the midfield and defense for them to showcase one of these moves.

That's not the way Bayern played iirc. From what I remember, in both games Bayern tried to push Madrid back into their own half, and were pretty successful. They created more chances than RM. I remember RM being fairly ineffective at trying to counter against a team who were pressing intelligently. Although those were fantastic, open games for the most part.

I would also suggest that RM's familiarity with Barcelona means they have learned how to counterattack against Barca well, but perhaps have difficulty coping with the high line of teams they are unfamiliar with.

We are not going to the Bernabeu to take pictures and fight over who gets Ronaldo's shirt!

I think our usual 442 will be too open. Remember Bayern and Napoli in the CL?

Extra man in midfield will be key imo.

Maicon-----Kompany-----Lescott-----Clichy
--------------Garcia-----GB/JR---------------
--------Silva-------Touré-------Nasri--------
--------------------Tevez---------------------

I would start Tevez, and swap him straight for Kun, whose pace will be more effective against tired legs.

If Bobby plans to start Kun, I would drop Nasri all together. Silva may not be at his best, but Nasri cannot control the game, and solve a lost game like Silva can.
I'd go with this, maybe Zaba instead of Maicon but Maicon's faster I suppose. And if I'm being picky I'd swap Nasri and Silva round to be more direct for this one...
