Do people still really believe that officials are just incompetent?

That performance today was bent as a nine bob note from beginning to end and no one with more than half a brain cell can dispute that. Neither Sky nor the PL wanted the competition to end today and they got their wish.

Spot on...If it was incompetence both teams would benefit from bad decisions

It helps keep the rags plastic fan base hopeful for next season
can't have them cancelling their Sky subscription

That was bent. It is as simple as that.

Like others have said - sky didn’t want it over.

Very early in the game a long ball was fed to Sterling. He was cornered in defensively but skillfully wriggled through attempted fouls and when he acclomplished this the linesman/referees assistant/rag **** raised his flag for a foul the rag ****s had failed to commit. There and then I knew this was not going to be a fair game.
This without a doubt had me thinking, this game is bent.

I agree, there's absolutely no doubt in my mind that it corrupt, we've had 10 absolute leg breakers this season ignored by the refs , they might not make money from it so what was the reason ? They can't stand us, jealousy , racism I don't know.
Last season v Chelsea was the 1st time I thought blatant corruption was at play from Taylor. Fast forward to the Wigan game & I saw something I'd never seen in 40 years of watching football...a ref change his Mind, corruption for all to see.
You're only half right there as you had seen it before, in the game you have mentioned there but it was the other way round.
Taylor was running up to Sideshow Bob with his hand going to his top pocket to issue a red, then all of a sudden he started waving his arms around signifying play on when it should have been a free kick and red card to City.

Same ref, same shite, changing his mind on his actions in both cases to the detriment of City.

Your right but to actually have the card out & about to write Delphs name in it & then change his mind was incredible , they're bent & we know it but they don't care how obvious it because there nothing we can do, I was persuaded not to call it a day after the Wigan game, today was the end , it's not City's fault but I can't be doing with the outright corruption any more.

VAR, on the face off it, always sounded like a great idea to me, but once you see how refs can 'interpret' something and listen to what ex refs say about certain 'nailed on' incidents, you start to question their logic and begin to see how it can still be manipulated, and they will.
Still mate, it has to benefit us. As much as we will still get the odd head scratcher it will indisputably get us more decisions our way, it can’t not do.

As much as anything it must be they hope to get Pep to decide he doesn’t like it and leave.

I'm shocked at how open this has all become, they have no shame and are becoming more arrogant. Yet the media hardly pick up on it.
MOTD may say it was a definite pen, but no one then can challenge the ref or PiGMOB. If a player or manager was continually making such poor decisions they would be rightly challenged in front of the TV cameras.
