Ref Watch City Games - 2023/24

Not sure where the evidence for that comes from?
Well this season has only had 16 games for a start but what are you asking for. A replica of the same where one of our players was sent off? That's a bit of a strange argument/attitude to have if you ask me.

It wasn't just both feet off the ground, he made contact with the player, with the leading foot(no trailing leg get out clause). Maybe not this season but I'm sure I remember red cards in the past being given when no contact has been made but it's still given on the basis of recklessness/dangerous play. So I'm doubling down on that, if that was one of our players and the VAR is looking at it, yes he's telling the ref to go and take another look at it because he thinks there's enough for a red there.

Arsenal fans and most of the pundits(MOTD etc) wanted a straight red for Kova's yellow card when we played them. That wasn't as bad as either of Hwangs challenges on Akanji and Walker(both orange, neither even made the highlights). It definitely didn't come close to ticking the boxes that the foul on Foden did.

I'm not even claiming there's some conspiracy to stop City, that was the reason for pointing out how weak his conviction was, letting the crowd dictate to him(I do remember now it was the Wolves ref I was thinking of where I noticed the same, we were terrible that game but they were on the ref from the first half for everything, it's no wonder Hwang stayed on the pitch). Kova was fortunate not to get a second yellow but we lost that game anyway and he did receive a yellow for his orange card tackle. The player who fouled Foden recieved nothing and I find it hard to believe the ref didn't see enough there for atleast a yellow in real time. I agreed with Rodri's red card, he had to go. However, we can't ignore there was a whole half of football leading up to that where the ref lost control of the players in a match that City were winning and at home. It doesn't take a genius to figure out which team needed to get under the others' skin, with niggly fouls, pushing their luck to see what the ref would allow. Our fans were on the refs back in that first half but he didn't let it faze him(typical).

I don't think this comes under tinfoil hat territory, to say the coverage City gets from the broadcasters does have double standards, we do have plenty of evidence of that(I've given you one from this season in this post). I mentioned how the crowd can impact a refs decision making(even if it's subconscious or subtle it can make a difference), why would the media coverage be any different? When they are told a City player should have been sent off. Some cockney ex player moaning "The refs gone and had a howler there, harrz ee not given that!". The constant focus on Rodri's tactical fouls and how many yellow cards he gets handed(it was Fernandino before him). They've even campaigned to get Aguero a retrospective red card just before a derby, for an elbow that didn't connect. I think the media know what kind of influence they can have and anyone who thinks there isn't an agenda against City on that side of football, needs to wake up.

It's ok posting that but can you give me some clear evidence that we are treated differently. I don't mean what you think or second hand info, I mean clear and obvious factual evidence because all I can see, from those no doubt doctored photos, is a bloke in sky blue attempting to murder someone and a guy in green asking the other bloke how his gran is.

We brought the fowl throw on ourselves as garvidol the ins was worse than a 9 year old and I noticed he did it a couple of times in his last game

In the end the ref decided he was going to blow for the next three whatever happened
I dont want to pigeon hole him, but it was just poor refereeing.

His technique might be pants but I'm not sure we should just let the ref off the hook for calling a foul throw where there factually wasn't(or please enlighten me if you think it was). He even called one on Bernardo(which was also incorrect), so it wasn't just about Gvardiol. I did notice Bernardo complained at the one given against Gvardiol(said it wasn't) before it, but I really hope that wasn't the reason he pulled Bernardo's up because that would be even worse.

You haven’t explain how Bernardo’s throw just before their goal was a foul throw? If it was a legitimate throw how did we bring it on ourselves?

Great points & when you remember how the media wanted Haaland banned for questioning an atrocious decision. This was backed up by Ogden saying he’d was surprised as they know that they make their disciplinary decisions based on the media furore.

It’s safe for your career to make bad decisions against City, human nature means you give the benefit of the doubt to your opponents.

3 of last 4 games….

Disallowed goals v Dippers
Countless nigly fouls, time wasting & advantage v Spurs
Foul throws, countless nigly fouls, yellows & reds not given v Luton
