Ref Watch City Games - 2023/24

What was the view on Ederson? I was a long way from that up in SS3 but when he made the challenge I thought he may be going off.
Think he got away with one. I believe the suggestion was that the attacker hit the ball slightly wide to try and go past Ederson, while Dias was inside, so could have covered.

Not sure myself - sets a pretty high bar for an obvious goal scoring opportunity, as just one defender being level and no keeper in the way, is surely not too different to a last man tackle, where the attacker would just have the keeper to beat. I doubt that would have been overturned if given as a red.

Why would he give a red ? The forward was not going towards the goal and players were covering. That was a good decision by the ref.
Not sure about covering, as Dias was behind the attacker, and Walker nowhere near. He wasn't going very wide with the ball, and if he'd gone past Ederson it's almost certain he'd have got a shot away, and at a reasonable angle, with likely nobody between him and the goal.

I never said he should be given a red. I said that if the referee had given a red, I think VAR would NOT have overturned the decision.
