For me, the referee last night showed great consistency in being inconsistent. Other matters aside, his issue of yellow cards was ridiculous particularly comparing Bernardo with Dan Burn. Personally, I think that had he not already cautioned Guimaraes, he would have given him a yellow card for clearly standing on Rodri’s foot in order to prevent any possible future skirmishes between the 2 of them. I know that there a few on here who think we are all referee bashers, but it was clear these match officials do not fully referee in accordance with the Laws of the Game otherwise please explain how Newcastle were caught offside and Ake takes the resulting free kick from inside the Newcastle half?? Just 1 pedantic example, but If you are going to do the job, do it 100% correct!

The offence occurred when the Newcastle player played the ball which occurred in his own half having come back from an offside position.

If you really think the awarding of 3 minutes injury time yesterday was fair, and on a par with what the red teams get then I think your clownish contrariness has really taken over. We won because we were excellent, fought to the end, even if the end was sooner than it should have been, I don’t say that after every game we play and I never mentioned Dan fucking Burn. Overseas refs are so much better than our incompetent bunch, and actually much fairer and less likely to cheat. 3 minutes yesterday was an inexplicable scandal

There were no real stoppages in the second half. 1 booking, 1 goal and 3 subs.

The post office cover up is a scandal. 3 minutes injury time is not.

You forgot the time wasting by their keeper aided and abetted by their inept ball boys. Whilst I was delighted with only three minutes it was a ridiculous short amount of added time. The ref was poor yesterday even by the poor PL standards.

That’s fine, you can absolutely think that. It’s not a scandal though.

It could have been more than 3 minutes, but when it’s worked out, it goes on bookings, subs, goals and injuries.
