Ref Watch City Games - 2023/24

Yep
it was after a Newcastle corner and their players wanted a handball but the game played on, then the ball went out in the middle of the park, and for some strange reason, He blew the whistle to stop the game, then waved play on ?

I don't understand why VAR are always in the ear of the referee, But they are 100% controlling the game. even when Newcastle thought they won a corner because the referee pointed to the corner flag only to change his mind and give a goal kick.

I know 1000% the match officials and linesmen are told what to do in our games, Last night the linesman not waving for offside when (clearly off) this does not happen for Liverpool or United
This happens every time a VAR check is ongoing and the ball goes out of play before the check is over. Play stops until the check is over.

You don’t know 100(0)% that the officials are told what to do in our games as you’d go to the police to get them charged with corruption.

Last minute winner and people still want to moan about a couple of potential extra bookings.

Seems crazy to me.

Not when they all add up to players missing games

I think they know why (referees) do it, they are trying to wind up and unsettle the city players for a reaction
100%, our games are refereed differently to both red scum clubs, from kick-off to the final whistle everything is under review by VAR and even the littlest thing they find will be used to punish us,

I call it TESCO every little bit helps

But they never blow the whistle to stop the game and then change their mind ??

Do you think anybody going to the police would not be laughed at and locked up in the loony bin?

to be fair with that one, the play actually didnt stop for the var check, the check happened while in play, he delayed taking a throw in for a couple of seconds and then play went on

There was a goal scored and a VAR check for a penalty for handball.

Still; narrative.
We'll always have these subjective views until they follow (I think) the way they do it in rugby league and stop the clock for all to see. For example if a goal-kick is allocated 20 seconds and they take 45 (as many teams who park the bus against City do) then either the clock is stopped or 25 seconds added on. It would soon get rid of the time-wasting.
At the moment it could be decided by someone wearing an Arsenal kit in Stockley Park. Nobody knows ergo no transparency.

I agree. It’s done on feel and has been since time was added on for injuries.

Maybe we do need the clock stopping, but even if it did, we’d still have people venting their spleen.
