Surely other teams’ fans don’t believe that all referees are against them?

That’s got to be a myth. Just look at our sensible, rational debates on here.

Oh, wait.

It’s just part and parcel of football. Always was and always will be.

No, but then nobody has confirmed the highly held and wildly shared belief in here that referees are instructed to be corrupt against us. Although to be fair it hasn't been confirmed that they are instructed to do so against other clubs either even though a percentage of their fanbase believe it to be true.
But we can have a go at clarification (although I suspect I'm about to win a bet with myself).
@Denis Law's Backheel was this comment in relation to the red card specifically or the standard of refereeing generally? Did it come before, after or at about the time of the red card?

Let me get this straight. You’re expecting some sort of official statement from Howard Webb or Alison Britton along the lines of “We believe that a successful Manchester United and Liverpool contributes to the appeal of The Premier League, globally. The dominance of Manchester City, we believe, threatens the fabric of our game and the significant American investment in traditionally successful clubs. Therefore we have been trying to stack the deck by announcing various investigations and charges before big games and being creative in our match officiating.”

Do you recall Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini? Football is a multi billion pound international industry and if you think there’s no corruption then I would like to book a two week holiday in your head as it sounds fucking lovely in there.

That Taylor is a terrible ref is irrelevant this particular discussion.
So ignore the Rodri bit and discuss his performance then, he created chaos, he nearly always does when refereeing us, and it results in certain other things happening.

His performance today was awful, yet I see him referee other games pretty well, the only time I remember him refereeing us well, was once when he got called out before kick off (Pep I think).

Another abysmal decision in the Luton Wolves game giving Luton a penalty They can’t even interpret the laws and guidance correctly what do they spend all their free time doing? Webb and his side kick Jon Moss are worse than Mike Riley which is a massive inditment Webb loves the limelight at least Riley kept out of it
It a great very well paid occupation with double bubble now they get a VAR gig each weekend VAR also has extended their career We deserve better than this lot who also promised that VAR would eliminate errors when in reality its to them

Taylor will be wanking himself stupid tonight knowing how much he's pissed us off.
High fives all round tomorrow when he goes round for Sunday lunch with his Rag season ticket holding Father and brother.

His father supports Sunderland and he hasn’t got a brother.

There's more than 20 referees registered for Premier League games.

Plenty enough so Taylor never refs our games ever again.

Or we could have a rated referee from the lower leagues. They might make mistakes but at least they'd be honest mistakes.

But truth is that pretty much every team hates this twunt (with one obvious exception). So we all have to take our turn. He's like a virus that nobody wants but we all have to get at some point.

I’m sure it isn’t. I’ve heard it myself about a dozen times just today.
I've heard numerous times today and over the last few years that he has family members who are Rag season ticket holders so I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

He affiliated himself with The Cheshire FA to enable him to referee City and Utd matches as he couldn't do so if he was affiliated with the association of his home town.
A Mancunian from Wythenshawe claiming to be an Altrincham fan?
Convenient as he wouldn't be able to referee either City or Utd or any matches which could influence either if he told his employer he supports one or the other.
I smell bullshit.

I’m afraid your info about him being from Wythenshawe is also wrong. Despite what Wikipedia says. He’s from
Altrincham.

Or we could get some top refs from abroad.
The state of refs in this country is fucking shocking, it’s no wonder they hardly ever get World Cup call ups!

I remember chatting to a few blues in the hotel carpark on FA cup final morning about this ****, all of us outwardly respectable seeming middle aged men, and to a man everybody thought he deserved what he nearly got from Roma fans.

If you conduct yourself as a **** you can’t complain when you get treated like one. What goes around comes around.

Mourinho is a twat but Taylor is an even bigger twat and Mourinho has got his number.
Pep has got Taylor's number too.
They can't both be wrong.

Taylor most definitely is local. He attended Altrincham Boys Grammar School and his birth place is Wythenshawe (probably the hospital maternity wing).

He should not be refereeing City or Rag matches which is another inditement of the useless twats at PGMOL.

He completely lost it after the Rodri red card and was running around like a headless chicken missing all-sorts of shenanigans by Forest.

As a Club we are far too placid about demanding that certain referees do not get appointed to officiate at our matches.

What I don't understand is why he would "apply a higher bar" in this game. It's pretty obvious that one of the teams will rely on possession and sophisticated tactics, ane one on physicality because they are less skilled. May sound patronising but it's the truth. So the physical team gains an advantage at the expense of the more skilled team. What does the referee expect to happen?

Ignoring the questions of consistency, I can see why it may happen with two "evenly matched" teams, City and Arsenal say, or City and Liverpool (as long as VAR is on the same page), but City and Forest, what is the thought process there?
