Ref Watch

Every time I see the goal and the multiple angles, it becomes more infuriating.

We need clarity on the following -

- Why is Atwell refereeing us again, after only refereeing us two weeks ago at Leeds
- His total non-response to the systematic fouling of Mahrez by Malacia and subsequently Shaw
- How can he be certain of non-interference from Rashford, using his angle, which was behind the play
- The conversation between him and the lino which led to the goal being awarded
- VAR reluctance to get involved

His interpretation of the offside law is inexplicable. On that basis you could just stand players offside at set pieces and cause total disarray for the defending team, or just goal hang and thump long - the defending team would have no idea how to set themselves.

Akanji effectively disadvantages himself by playing Rashford offside. Ederson is clearly set for Rashford to strike the ball and Walker actually gets back in to cover, but has no idea who will strike the ball.

The standard and application of the laws this season is bordering on farcical. Constantly reminded of this 'high bar' and revised contact rules, but it doesn't count for anything when match changing moments occur. Our goal at Anfield - Taylor let both teams boot each other round the pitch, then we scored and it was scrutinised for any minor contact 10-20 seconds beforehand.

Yellow cards just seem a total guessing game now too.

"Let's bring in Peter Walton to agree with the VAR. Peter..."

"Let's rattle the weasel's cage for his dishonest and worthless contribution.. Peter.."

Fucking hate that bloke with all my soul, like sincerely would like to spit in his face.

Can't forget the amount of times he actually fucked us over when he was an active ref too, especially versus Everton for some reason.

Now he's just a handsomely paid mouth piece for the cartel on BT. Lizard.

Saw a good point this morning, based on the interpretation, Rashford could have done step-overs on his way through and still not been flagged offside. That's how ridiculous the ruling is.

I bet you nobody scores another goal like that this season, referees will be told to rule it offside as they should have done yesterday.
City should make an official formal complaint to PIGMOL,PL & FA today and not let it go until the publicly admit that things are so wrong that we no longer have confidence in the competence of the authorities or the impartiality of match day officials or their leaders.

Webb has been in charge for 6 days. !!

If his organisation is not held to account and public scrutiny over our decision NOW , he & they will think that they've got away with it and it will be bloody open season to support the rags at our expense.

He and they must be stopped in their tracks NOW !!

Some excellent points in this post

We should make a big thing of it. Put them under pressure.

New tactic.

Get 9 players linking arms/shoulders in a full circle around Bernardo or Mahrez and shielding them from any opposing players and then calmly walk the ball up the pitch and into into the opposing goal.
Sounds like a rugby rolling maul. Quite like the idea, wonder what law they would use to stop it

For some bizarre reason we seem content to just suck it up and to be continually treated like shit time after time after time. There seems to be zero in terms of meaningful action on the part of the Club other than the odd oblique and meaningless post-match sarcasm from the manager.
