Ref Watch

Not bothered about the ref today.

Thought Bernardo did just touch their lad that made his leg clip against his own standing leg.

Can see why Gundogan got a yellow because he left his feet, harsh one though. And not arsed that he didn’t book their players for fouls soon after because they weren’t the same kind of fouls (yet you still get people shouting “but you booked our lad” when it doesn’t work like that).

Thought their right back should have been booked for handball.

Other than that he was fine.

He wasn’t

I thought at the time that the Norwich player had tripped over the turf/ball. There was fuckin' daylight between Bernardo and their guy. Scott must have seen that to allow play to carry on. WTF did Johnny One Lung find on VAR? Nothing but an opportunity to scrub a perfectly legit goal. We should be fuckin' told WHY that goal was disallowed. The reason we don't is that the only explanation would be another extension of the LotG that didn't exist before kick off! Incompetent wanker with the whistle and an incompetent in the VAR shed. Welcome back - we've missed you! Like fuck, I have!
I was there and defo agree no foul..but the screens did say ‘foul bu Bernado...unusually they also actually replayed the ‘incident’ on the public screen, which is why so many of us were booing cos there was defo no contact

Every game we play we get fouled more. Yet every game we get more cards than the opposing team, nothing has changed. It’s blindingly obvious.

Lost count of the amount of fouls Norwich conceded , Gilmour should have had two yellow cards and Hanley if they had finished the game with nine men and half a dozen bookings they couldnt have complained but like Spuds last week it appears to be a free for all on our players and refs do nowt. The problem will be one of these unpunished assaults will cost us a player for the season , in comparison when our players make the slightest or tactical foul the officials can't wait to get the cards out , its transparent what PGMOL are doing and probably at the behest of the Premier league , stop City at all costs we need the Premier league ribbons in red this season.

Magliar clipped the Leeds player Tyler Roberts in the penalty box, and he went tumbling down.

No penalty awarded as the touch was deemed slight and accidental, and the BT pundits were positively applauding the new directive.

Fast forward one gameweek later and the ref is viewing selective footage from an angle that didn't show anything conclusive, and the Torres goal is chalked off.

We all know what's going on here.

Two games in and you can already see we are reffed differently. We slightly touch their player and it's an instant free kick. Our player gets taken out and it's play on. Gundy got booked for a slightly late challenge but their player took out Bernardo when we were on the break from their corner and no card is given.

You could see the frustration in our players every time we didn't get awarded the foul.

Clear and obvious error - ref saw it in real time and was fine playing on. Jon Moss on VAR and refers it back.

If he could not make his mind up then why ask the ref to re-check to something he clearly saw in real time.

Thankfully the goal chalked off did not affect the overall result.

Norwich pull a goal back at that point and it's a different game altogether.

I was at the game and thought that was a foul prior to the Torres non-goal. When I saw the replay I was dumbfounded it had been ruled out. Surely VAR only overturns clear and obvious errors and the referee who was yards from the incident saw nothing wrong. Yet the VAR planks ruled it out, we all know what is going on here.
