Ref Watch

It’s like that other one when a game kicks off and within a couple of mins there‘s a poor or reckless tackle a bit like the Dallas one but the commentators or pundits usually say it’s too early in the game for a yellow or red card …
One of my biggest pet hates that. If its a card, its a card, no matter when it happens.

I think the powers that be had decided that the Leeds game was their best chance to secure a draw or better and they went for it.....

Unfortunately it didn’t work...we were too good.
Of course, you could tell that when the appointments were revealed. Unfortunately, 4 games is enough for them to stick them on another game before the end of the season.

THIS^^^ could be the least productive, and pedantic, argument ever!

OF COURSE, “nobody knows,” but given we all watch lots of football and players on yellow cards rarely make reckless challenges in big games thereafter to protect themselves from a second yellow, it just makes COMPLETE FOOTBALLING SENSE that had Dallas been on a yellow card, it ys highly doubtful he would have made that challenge, especially considering he didn’t need to make it at all!

Indeed, it would have made for a very interesting g afternoon if Dallas had gone up against Grealish for well over an hour with a first yellow card, but Tierney is either bent, incompetent, or both!

Tierney played the big tough guy on the sideline, even though he had a(what should illegal) “behind the hand” conversation with Marsch AFTER yellow carding him, but was dangerously laissez faire on the actual field of play,

As for the Dallas injury, I thought (like most, I assume) his knee would have given way far easier than his femur, which is the biggest, strongest “dog bone” in the body!

The “wrong leg” challenge is so dangerous to players, I’ve no idea why they do it!
The ref was piss poor but people blaming him for a thick footballer not having the sense to go in for a tackle that could injure them or the other player isn’t the refs fault is it?

Here's a new one from egghead Gallagher

I thought it was "red" worthy for being reckless, it was that late, it doesn't/shouldn't matter if he's injured or on a stretcher.
I remember George Potter being stretchered off after Dennis Tueart he admitted him in a City v Hartlepool FA Cup tie, both got red cards

He explained why the referee could be at fault here. If the referee had cautioned Dallas after his fourth foul, for persistent misconduct, Dallas would have been much more circumspect for the remainder of the game. Tierney was complicit in putting both players at risk of serious injury.

Yes it really is. The saying ‘be careful what you wish for’ springs to mind.
Having seen a few Championship games this season, losing Atkinson and Dean is a sizeable blow no matter what we think of them at times.

And we all know Riley won't promote entirely on merit so Lord knows what faceless yes-men will be in charge next season. Especially if we get the likes of Blobby Madley back.

Will PiGMOL give us all their go to guys till the end of the season?

Dean, Atkinson,Fatty farewells with OliVAR getting the Villa game if a result is needed?

Also this weekend I noted St Maxim was flagged off side direct from a goal kick. Law states you cannot be off side in this situation. Not that it would've mattered with that numpty
Think it was a free kick for offside taken from slightly wrong position. What was interesting in that game was linesman flagging Newcastle offside straight away with no of this see if a chance happens and refer to var malarkey.
