Referees’ Performances 2018/19

So here is a plain and simple question I have for you,I'm not scrolling back through all your posts the last few days, you may have already answered it,but it is difficult when you are evidently becoming as popular as I am on here,to check, but here goes.

Stat site or no stat site,do you think Atkinson reffed our game fairly ?

Whilst you are thinking,I am also interested to see whether you think that Tierney reffed that Newcastle v Chelsea game fairly as well ?

The latter is not really important,as it is us I'm more interested in,but it will paint a picture for me as to the general feelings you have about referees.

No I think the latter is vitally important in this context.

Within the Chelsea v Newcastle there were a number of mistakes, such as the elbow in fact there were mistakes in numerous games. It would be great if these never happened but unfortunately its a facet of the game. However is this bias and corruption in those games? Are these refs fixing all those matches too?.

When viewed through the prism of a city match those mistakes are given as evidence of bias against us and corruption but the reality is they are common place throughout all games. So in the context of whether we are being singled out, I do not believe so as I see mistakes week in week out.

There are individuals on here who state quite categorically the linesmen definitely saw Bolys handball. I think in real time that would be very difficult to capture with any certainty. This weekend I saw a Watford player rake both legs down the back of a palace player right in front of the referee. Clear sending off but it was not given. Do I think the ref purposely cheated Crystal Palace? Is he corrupt? No its a biproduct of having to make a decision on the spot in real time. Something the average fan is not prepared to accept will result in failings and highlights a unrealistic expectation people have of referees.

Did Atkinson ref it well? He was ok yesterday. Wolves offside goal was correctly ruled out (If he and the linesmen, were corrupt would it have been?).

Looking at the broader picture of football, penalties infrequently get awarded and yet we are expecting two in one half of football when 3 clubs received that total in 114 matches and Liverpool who, according to this forum, get favourable decisions received the grand total of three in 38 matches.

Do you with any seriousness think Liverpool never received similar contacts with opponents over the course of 38 games last season in additions to the three pens awarded?

To me that highlights that there is a huge disparity between what fans think is a pen and what meets the threshold for a pen for a referee.

Last season Burnley, West Brom and Swansea, received 2 pens between them over the course of 114 games do you think if you asked their fans that would be an accurate reflection? Of course it wouldnt be.

What would concern me is if City were not receiving their fair share, and as we have received more pens than any club in the past 8 years it would evidence that is not the case.

Literally not a word about the Wolves handball goal but reverse it, we win with a goal like that and you can well imagine the outcry as our rivals are robbed all of a sudden.

Oh yea we are always made never to forget,I was talking to a Wigan fan whilst on holiday, and one of his first words to me was I fucking hate Goater,I smiled and said you'll never forget that will you,I also said it's because the goat had a big cock that slipped out of his shorts, thats what he scored with.

I'll take the Liverpool point you make,in fact I'll name Salah as a prime example, any slight touch on him and he's down, and I mean any touch,if it's close to or near the box then that is a bonus for them,a scoring opportunity.

Aguero gets hacked down by Young, and it was a hack,in the box and nothing given, how does that work ? Was that a pen in your eyes ?

I need you to answer this before we carry on

If he didn't see that from the angle he has then he's not fit to do his job.

Atkinson should be sacked just because he will not make important Decisions in games he waves everything in sure he has a sight problem.

If we want to debate the past 8 years let's go further, let's go throughout the time any of us have been watching football.

Let's start with a list of every dodgy decision to favour City, anyone can remember, even if it only helped for for ten minutes, in any game, v Liverpool, ever.

Sorry that is your view of Salah through your own bias. If what you said was true pool would have received a lot more than 3 penalties last year. Its not the best comparison to make in my opinion.

Im off to the beach now but will pop in later. I have outlined my case. Every club could point to pens/fouls not given, no doubt the Palace fans are pointing to that clear sending off yesterday.
