Referees’ Performances | 2024/2025

No clear and obvious evidence to change the decision only applied there if the original call was goal.

There was very clear and obvious evidence to overturn an on field decision of handball, because Haaland chests it and the Spurs defender handballs it. An absolute stinker of a VAR call

Imagine if Spurs’ last chance had gone in after the ref gave a handball on the pitch he couldn’t possibly have seen to disallow our second, as even VAR watching replays over and over for 6 minutes couldn’t tell.

I don’t understand why you would even give it on the pitch knowing VAR will review the goal. If VAR are not able to decide conclusively than it should be a goal, not the other way around!

That last bit is key. Why would the ref guess at a handball as that's what he would have done

Did the ref even blow for the handball? We were celebrating... Was that a fuck up? Just beyond shit these refs, the way they can manipulate ganes now is a fucking disgrace. Need to fuck them all off and pay for impartial ones from abroad

I don't even understand what happened, didn't even see the ref whistle for handball. All game this ref was absolutely shit. He would wait see how the players or fans were reacting and then give a foul based on reactions. He did this for both teams. How can he have seen a handball? if the VAR didn't see a handball and thats the refs decision why is not overturned.

Commentary said it wasn't clear and obvious so they stuck with refs original decision.

Anyone recall the ref ruling out the goal when it happened? And if so why did we celebrate it?

Seems dodgy.
Ref did disallow it, it just took a minute, that's why only 1 or 2 lads were over with Haaland.

Matterface just didn't realise.

Yeah he did, that's why only a couple went over to Haaland.

Its bizarre

I dont buy the ‘corrupt’ theory, i just think VAR has introduced another level of utter incompetence.

VAR has to be for black and white decisions. The ‘clear and obvious error’ nonsense just another get out for people who are too shite at their jobs to make a decision

Why would it take a minute to disallow a goal?

It was just a late call, it was as he was wheeling away, think he was just processing what happened.

VAR probably should overrule it but follows this 'clear and obvious' nonsense unless its Everton v United.
