Referees/Officials Thread - 2023/24

Best players in the world, gashest referees.

But wait, they have their own tv programme now to explain why they’re so shit, so it’s fine.

In any other profession there would be competition for the role to ref games for the premier League, if that company wasnt doing a good job then contracts could be dropped or not renewed, but no it's a closed shop no competition for pigmol they do what their masters the Prem league tell them to do and no questions asked .

There should be referee management in the crowd who can give the on pitch referee a yellow if he makes a howler 2 yellows and his is replaced!

The ref today booked Rodri fir kicking the ball away. By the letter of the law it was correct. Second half a Brighton player did it and not an eyelid was batted. Coincidence or corruption?
That kind of disparity in decision making is at the very best it's unconscious bias.

Today wasn't that. The table was DEFINITELY tilted in their favour.

I have come to the conclusion that City get reffed in a way that the refs would like to ref the red tops, but don't have the minerals to.
We are reffed to the letter of the law because there is not negative press about it. Nobody tubthumps for City.
Get a contentious decision wrong for a redtop team and its conversations disclosed and apologies given, refs stepped down and rules changed.
Until there is an independent officiating body in this sport the hard power of the red tops will continue to set the agenda.
