Referees/Officials

cash rich league-refs only regulated by their own people-all the didnt see it excuses to use-limited but high profile career- why not take the brown envelope

Everyone banged on about Taylor being a Rag (and I know for a fact he genuinely isn't) but this Bolton ref, Mason, is supposed to be a Rag for sure despite saying he supports Bolton.
Wrong.

haha, no surprise Taylor gives 2 pens against Liverpool. Hysterical he can give the first when he couldn't give Gundogan's.
I can laugh because I hate the bin dippers but it's really not funny.

Think it's pretty evident that both Dean & Mason today have been told by others to give red cards and certain decisions, same as Taylor was clearly told not to give the Luiz foul on Aguero.

I think there's something in the mic business, but the recordings have to be somewhere and someone needs to reveal them.

Shame Snowden is in Russia under Roman's friend Vladimir.

Surely these match communications are recorded? If not, why not? I'm sure there would be a few questions asked about leading decisions being made by 4th official. If that's the case, why don't we start using video referees as in rugby, some of these players would be right up shit creek, but then again probably not.

Mason, as I've said before, should never have been reffing today's game as he's affiliated to the Lancashire FA, as are Burnley. One of the cast-in-stone rules that Mike Riley talked about in 2012 was that a ref cannot officiate for a team from his own county association. That's what he said, which means Mason shouldn't be reffing Burnley, Preston, Blackburn etc.

It's becoming clear that Riley has either completely lost control of PGMOL altogether to external interests or is just taking the piss.

it's the former. Riley just does as asked, he has no genuine authority.

Tell me the shocking decisions, please. Fernadinhos challenge warranted a red but because we didn't agree at the time we were bound to get on the refs back for every little thing and blow stuff out of proportion.

Was it a flawless refereeing performance? No. Have I seen many worse? Yes plenty.

The overreaction is just another symptom of the believe that everyone is out to get us, something I don't buy...

Did you actually see the game?
From memory Mason's woeful refereeing that MOTD airbrushed out of existence included:
- Burnley's striker tripped and pulled down Kolarov to allow Grey to run through the gap for a run on goal. YaYa was subsequently pulled up for shoulder to shoulder action;
- Bringing the ball back for a free kick to us when Navas had been put through on goal - a calculated no-advantage-given decision by Mason who waited ages before giving the foul (a classic sign of a referee fixed football match BTW);
- The Kamikaze kick on KDB that sent him flying as he went down the wing - Good job a foot wasn't planted when the kick made contact - Only a yellow card;
- Taking out Silva on the goal line as Silva pulled it back. the ball went back and Silva was sythed down - How the ref failed to see that and not give a penalty is simply beyond me;
- Burnley players continually climbing on the shoulders of City players and not being pulled up for fouls;
- Numerous other "hard tackles" on City players of a standard that when committed by City players were given as fouls.
