Referees/Officials

Officials were very good today...no bad fouls or anything to get wound up about....makes a change that the officials arent in the limelight .

Seems a shame that it's got to the point where we have to make a specific thread to praise the officials for having a solid game. There was almost no big decisions to make. They did their job, as they should, and it's how it should be after each game, rather than an exception to the rule.

Hopefully technology can be brought in & football fans can start moving on from the ref's.

Thought Atkinson had a really good game
Yes I disagreed with a couple of fouls and I'd have probably issued a couple of yellows but overall I prefer that approach than the pandering (allegedly) to Far East betting syndicates we normally see

Some refs would have booked Sterling for kicking the ball away, but the offence is for delaying the restart and he actually smashed the ball against the post from where it rebounded to exactly where the free kick had to be taken from. Good decision!

how many City players would have stayed on the pitch if they'd committed the amount of fouls Larsson got away with? Thought he was bobbins on that, once again opposition player is allowed to leave one on our players with no repercussions, and I'd like to see his "tangle" with Aguero in the box off the ball again.

No complaints today from me other than the disallowed goal.

Merlin wasn't offside and Raz didn't try to play the ball so it wasn't offside.

Raz tangles with the defender so the decision should have been a free kick if anything but it wasn't offside.

Not really as once he tangles with the defender the officials deem him to be active and affecting the play so offside given.
Whether the defender would have or could have got anywhere near the ball or Silva is a judgement call either way

Ive no issue with it being a foul and free kick but i dont agree he is offside.

Anyways, its no goal either way.

Ok today but it still does not change the fact its a terribly difficult job and poor decisions are being made regularly.

Im personally not sure what the answer is but you cant watch MOTD without seeing a game adversely affected by decision making
