Religion

Religion is belief in something absent any proof whatsoever. Usually promising some sort of reward/continued existence following ones death. Immortality - that is life in some form after death - is intoxicating. Ergo religion.

If religious beliefs had little to no detrimental impact on society and instead was simply a matter of individual conviction - I'd have no problem with it. Instead, religion almost always devolves into antisocial behavior and violence.

I have faith i can sing really well, the evidence tragically contradicts this though. Same with the existence of god. All the faith in the world m9ves the dial not a millimetre.
Off topic - my singing is woeful too. But for some reason my whistling is far, far better - but not excellent at all.

Perhaps we both should look into auto-tune.

l've tried that. Still sound kike a goose farting in the fog.
For me - it's weird.

I try to hit notes all the time that my vocal cords can't sustain and thus my whistling is far better.

But it's more than just that - even if I lower the octave range and try to sing a song - sometimes I can't for the life of me hit the correct next note. But if I switch to whistling, I'm far better. Weird.

Just a pity whistling is as popular as the clap these days. I feel your pain.

Even if a million scientists said they believed, that doesnt mean anything. A true scientist will expect evidence. Faith is useless. Have you come across something like Thomas Kuhn’s Structure of Scientific Revolutions? In that he may speak along the lines that there can be a growth in the understanding within one paradigm, then enough data may come along that doesn’t fit in to that paradigm so there can be growth/opening into a new paradigm in which that data fits better. Obviously some may be so heavily invested in the old paradigm and so reject the new one. For me there is a faith in - that there are understandings beyond currently accepted paradigms. How beautiful is that? And the curious thing for me is that there comes to be a sense that how one chooses to see life can actually come to be a limit to one’s ability to understand life. To sum this up, one might say that a level of knowledge effectively comes to be a level of ignorance as one opens to a deeper understanding AND both ignorance and understanding are both seen to expressions of the same ’scale of awareness.’ Cheers :)

That’s your understanding of religion and you can choose to go with that. I choose not to limit myself to your understanding.
