Richard Dunne {merged}

Hes gone and should have just left it at that.

To say Cook knows nothing about football maybe correct, but he knows about business and to get the best out of a player whilst still at the club you dont tell him your going to get rid off him.

Get real Dunny, goodbye and good luck

I always enjoy reading blues comments on this site and I occasionally post. Some of the comments I agree with and some I don’t, everyone is entitled to an opinion.

I just can’t believe the OP criticising anything at all that we have done this season!!!

1. We have the best team I have seen assembled by …our management
2. I have never ever been as excited about the start of a season ever (I’m forty F’in Two)

Yes we have let a brave, strong, loyal centre half go and all the other superlatives that go with Dunne But the management have decided it’s for the greater good of the team as a whole.

Why keep a horse (or Donkey if you prefer) that you love slowly ebbing away watching the thoro breads playing in the field when you can let it play out in another field with other cart horses enjoying it’s self.

Also on a more serious note we need to bring Nedum in when ever Lescott or Koloa r rested or injured. And we have Vinny who will compete. It’s all for the greater good.

He’s gone get over it and support the greatest team assembled since The King played, support the management, support the new centre halves and support each other let’s not shoot ourselves in the foot once again arguing.

No we should have kept Dunne and Richards as centre backs despite tehm being rubbish last season and signed Dickov and Goater back up front instead of Tevez and Adebayor.

I think dunne's just gutted to have left, he had alot of affection for the club and wanted to be apart of the bright future we have. I'd be a bit pissed off aswell if some **** in a suit tried selling me behind my back

And you're deluded - time to put away that Richard Dunne duvet set.

Good riddance. Won't be long until Villa fans wonder what all the fuss was about.

You've got a Richard Dunne duvet set?

Strange considering you've just delighted in slagging him off even though half of what you posted isn't true. Which player are you going to slag off next? I'm guessing Robinho.

I was mentioning with regards the 'well-used' one you clearly possess. You keep the ground sheet and I'll have the pillow case!

You suggest that half of my original post is not true, in your opinion.

And, that's what it is all about. Opinion. My opinion on Dunne as a player will never waver. But I posted based on his comments towards City. My opinion of him went down even further.

Same, as I will never slag off Robinho, as he is our future.

The calls for Dunne to get a testimonial were laughable. It's like saying I got five numbers on the lottery, but give me the jackpot anyway, because I did well to get five.

It's not about forgetting the past, it is part of what makes me a blue.

But I'm sure as damn not going to allow mis-placed sentiment get in the way of me finally seeing us a lift a trophy after 30-odd years of watching shite.

People can argue that the money has taken away our soul, but I like what Oliver Holt said the other week, it has merely given it the club back.

By that, I mean, it finally allows us to face truths that we would never acknowledge prior to the takeover - we were a poorly run club, with a majority of poor players and living on yesteryear.

I think all our fans deserve a new tomorrow, and Dunne was never going to be part of that.

Not a go at you, Disturbance, sure there are various players in the squad we would disagree on.

Contracts mean nothing to a footballer when they're offered more money elsewhere or a bigger club comes knocking but when the shoes on the other foot, its a different matter. He'll get his loyalty bonus and has been a good servant.

Couldn't do it to his face could he as Dunne stated that he refused to even speak with Cooke.

I think at Villa away we should sing "He's here, He's there, He's every fucking where, RICHARD DUNNE, RICHARD DUNNE"

Would be a nice sign of respect to him and a bit of a thankyou for the service he has given us.

Espec sing it when he bags and O.G for us ;)

definitely. the mans a legend.
It will happen we also show respect to players who didn't shat on us like Distin, remember Coton as a sub for the rags the family stand in the Platt Lane burst into "Englands number one" as he warmed up

I can't Say I'm a huge Dunnie fan, when people talk about his form last year they seem to forget it was shocking at the tailend of the SGE season too and I can't believe that he was still able to pick up the player of the year award(Joe Hart going from 2nd choice keeper to an England cap springs to mind). I support the move by the club it was the logical step, that being said it seems that they could have handled it much better and it also must be said that Dunnie too, is not handling it as well as we would all have hoped.
