Sky just showed Richards at airport in Florence.....looks like he's off to Fiorentina subject to medical....

bit of a weird one if you ask me,why Italy?
is that just to get out the country or nobody else came in for him?

Europa League football, nice environment to live in and maybe Micah wants to see how he can get on in a different country - unlike most English players who seem afraid of trying that?

sounds like he had no other option but to go to Italy. west ham was the other club interested in him but apparently the money wasn't good enough.

poor guy made a big a mistake when he refused to sign the contract extension. talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

Very sorry to see him go as he's unquestionably blue through and through. He has to play football though, as he's getting no younger, and this comes on the back of someone (I forget who) last week saying that more English players ought to be looking abroad for games if they can't get PL starts. I hope this sees Micah getting games and I also hope that the England management take note and he gets the England place he would so deserve.

I hope this pans out, it was certainly time for Micah to move on but I would still have felt a little remorse each time I saw him had he gone to another English club. I hope he goes and dominates in Italy and gets a regular run of games under his belt (provided he can stay fit)

Good move for him. Richards following Coles lead to abroad, Serie A becoming the second league for English players it seems.
