Rik Mayall

He was my comedy hero along with Aide whilst growing up from Kevin Turvey, The Dangerous Brother's, Young One's Comic Strip Presents, Bottom,B'astard and his stage shows were also brilliant.

Sad sad loss.

RIP (P)Rik.

For those of us lucky enough to become teenagers in the late 70s, there was punk rock, the Life of Brian and then the Young Ones.

A comic genius. Once in every lifetime...

Punks and skins and rastas will all gather round and hold their hands in sorrow for their fallen leader. And all the grown-ups will say, "But why are the kids crying?" And the kids will say, "Haven't you heard? Rick is dead! The People's Poet is dead!"

And then one particularly sensitive and articulate teenager will say, "Other kids, do you understand nothing? How can Rick be dead when we still have his poems?"
Played.

A huge loss...... Loved his work, so funny

The immortal line to Suggs in the Young Ones , sorry if I am repeating a previous post....

Rik Mayall "Do you know Summer Holiday by Cliff Richard?"

Suggs "You hum it son, I'll smash yer face in"

RIP
