Riyad Mahrez - 2018/2019 performances

Embarrassing writing off of a player on here as usual. Same with Mendy, same with Sterling last year, same with Bernardo last year, same with Sane the year before that. Etc etc etc.

He hasn't been anywhere near as poor as people are making out either. He's had some very good games as well as some not so good games. It's his first season at the club, it's expected.

With Mahrez are we getting what we should be getting out of him playing on the right. It’s so predictable he will slow the play up and cut in and either drop it inside for Bernardo or flight a cross in that the defender can see and attack.

I think he would be better suited playing off a striker which we don’t do. Needs a reaction tonight after him not being included in the team on Sunday. The way he went on strike at Leicester last January shows he doesn’t like it when things are going his way.

City fans have urged many of our transfer targets to do the same in order to push through a move to us.

Now it's being used as something to hold against Mahrez?!

It's as if he hadn't realised he was joining the record-breaking champions, who are one the best teams in the world!

He has to earn his place and isn't one of our best players IMO. I've been very disappointed with his application since he missed the penalty, a penalty he didn't deserve to take.

He'll get another chance with Pep and then he needs to grab it with both hands.

He will have the opportunity tonight and saturday he should run his bollocks of and try to make a big impact on these 2 games! We will see how much he wants a start in premier games after them.

Its good hes not happy. Mouthing off to the press is not so good. He knows what he needs to do. I expect he'll start the two cup games and its up to him to put in performances. No way in the current climate does he displace Sane or Sterling, they are both head and shoulders above him a the moment. He needs to rise to the challenge. Something he never had to do at Leicester.
