Riyad Mahrez - 2018/2019 performances

Its ridiculous and childish to call people haters when they criticise player performances. I'm sure most are hoping that he improves and integrates into the team and becomes more effective. I think some players take more time than others to settle into a new system and team and for others it never works out. There are numerous examples of players being average at one club and then seemingly being transformed after moving to another.
It would be if the criticism were constructive.

Pep coveted Mahrez and chased him for six months so he has seen something in him to add to our squad , he hasnt lived up to his fee but he also isnt the disaster some are describing , if all the squad are fit then Mahrez was only ever purchased as a player for the bench similar to Gundogan , but as we have found the full squad is never always fit. Both have been decent signings , but i dont expect Mahrez to fill Sterling's or Sanes's boots or Gundogan to replace Merlin or KDB you would need £100m and £300k a week minimum to replace these players , but if Mbappe amd Messi do want to sign and our happy at being rotated , then bring it on.

Im not sure you spend 60 on a squad player, especially as we were courting him for so long. Im sure Pep sees specific qualities that he can exploit as and when, therefore not, imo as simple to say he is automatically behind Sterling & Sane.

Still settling in and I'm sure we haven't seen his best yet, but early days

How times have changed £60m for a bench warmer ,can't believe ive just posted that ,can remember signing Paul Stewart from Blackpool for £200k and thinking it was the last piece of the jigsaw for the old 2nd division title , but i digress , as for Mahrez agree he does have different qualities to Sterling/Sane but he is only going to get a start in a wide position ,maybe will leave it to Pep he appears to know what he's doing :)

In todays market 60m is classed as a squad player! Look at coutinho at Madrid benched now and what he cost 140m?
