What's this about? His fanboys are absolutely toxic.
Apparently Sterling's racist towards him and Aguero, Sané, Silva and Fernandinho all hate him if you believe any of the deluded theories that they're coming up with.
They're even threatening players on their social media channels..
To be fair, with the exception of maybe De Bruyne, every player has at some point in their City tenure been overly and unfairly criticised. Or at the very least doubted. Often on the back of only one or two under par performances. Check out the Laporte or Fernandinho threads after the first Lyon game and you'll see nobody is immune.
Point being, after anything less than perfect result and performance some people are always going to be unhappy, and unfortunately players like Mahrez who've had less time or opportunity to win favour tend to be easier picks. Especially if they've had a below par game.
I get where you're coming from, it seems unfair to discount all the good he's done so far and the fact he's integrating into a new team, playing in a rather unfamilar role too and just say he's not good enough and won't make it blah blah blah. But take it from me, someone who's spent a lot of time defending other overly criticised players like Gundogan, Mendy, Jesus, Otamendi etc (and currently debating over whether to defend Walker) that Mahrez has yet to cross into boo-boy status. And even if he had, calling other posters out over it is only going to make them double down. You don't even need me to tell you that you're a forum veteran.
I agree with your sentiment, but I think you'd be better off telling everyone why he's good and deserves our patience and hope that they can see your point of view. Because I know you can, you're a decent poster after all :).
Their behavior is just pathetic If these alleged threats are true. I can understand the enthusiasm and, to less extent, the frustration of his fanboys, yet they should not be paranoid and blow things out of proportion. I personally noticed that Raheem tends not to pass the ball to Riad ; however I would give him the benefit of the doubt as Raheem style of play is more individual than collective. Furthermore, Peep would definitely notice it if that was so obvious or if the players do not get on well with each other. Anyway, we were warned by Leicester fans about his fanboys !His fanboys are absolutely toxic.

Easily Motm.
Constantly putting in dangerous crosses, one finding Sane for the goal. On the scoresheet as well. Cuts on to his left a little often though, go to the right a few more times Riyad if just to keep the defenders guessing.
I don’t think you could argue he was mom.
He personally had an excellent game. Constantly causing his man problems.
But as a team we look a little easier to defend against when he plays, much like Bernardo last season.
Don’t think it’s necessarily a reflection on Mahrez, but how good we are with the front 3 we’d all pick.
