Just think how many chances van persie would get with silva and nasri....he has got to be thinking about moving to city...on another point i bet after tonight so is torres..

Torres would easily score 30 goals a season if he played for us.

Play Torres in a team that has Xavi , Ozil , Iniesta , Nasri and Silva in the starting line up and he STILL wouldn't score 10 goals a season. Just saying .

I could probably score 10 goals a season in that team. Torres would comfortably score 30 playing in a side catering to his strengths. 3 in his last 3 for Spain, and it'll continue throughout the tournament.

You can see what torre could be like with city after last night...him and silva looked breathtaking in places....

Yes it was only ireland granted, but you could see how well they played together...just looked suited....

You must have just started following football for the last 12 months. Just saying

Is this 'just saying' shite what all 14 yr olds commonly use to insult each other these days?

Just wondering....

Just laughing

Of course being a city fan im glad torres has been awful, but as a football fan im pleased for him, cause i thought he was outstanding for liverpool and i wanted him at city....

I really think he would be excellent with silva and nasri...torres... i really do and he is still younger than rvp,and look at the hunger this guy has now,you can see it in his eyes....

If hazard and the likes click with him, they are gonna score some goals chelsea....no doubts...

Assuming Aguero is our main striker and we have 3 other strikers next season. All strikers will need considerable self belief and confidence to spend significant time on the bench.
I'm not sure Torres (and maybe RVP?) will have the best mentality for this. Both seem to prefer playing the "main striker" at clubs.
IMO Dzeko had this problem for us this season.

I hope you're not being serious!

Torres was never right mentally at Chelsea last season but it's clear from last night that he hasn't lost his talent.

I would take Torres over van Persie, although I would prefer Thomas Muller as he is young and can play multiple positions.

We don't need 4 world class household name strikers, it just won't work with rotation, egos etc.

Who rattled your cage fatty?

I'm starting to wonder if Bluemoon is just a forum full of City fans with no friends. Yiu lads argue way too much especially as we've won the league.

mirror running a story that arsenal have resigned themselves to van persie being sold

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/robin-van-persie-transfer-arsenal-887140

Arsenal have slapped a £30 million price tag on striker Robin van Persie.

The Dutch striker has so far failed to agree an extension to his current deal which has just one season left.

The club are willing to make Van Persie the highest earner in the club’s history with an offer close to £130,000-a-week.

But Gunners chairman Peter Hill-Wood admitted that if another club offers Van Persie £250,000 a week, then Arsenal would not be able to compete.

Arsenal have not given up hope of keeping their captain, but if he insists on leaving the price will be high.

Van Persie is being tracked by Manchester City and Juventus.

Paris St Germain, funder by Qatari owners, are also keeping tabs on developments.

Russian League big spenders Anzhi, managed by Guus Hiddink, would also top any contract offer to Van Persie. But the 28 year-old striker does not want to be based in Moscow. This summer’s debate will revolve around Van Persie’s willingness to commit his future to Arsenal.

If he can’t do that the London club will take any £30m offer – even one from a rival Premier League club like champions City.

Arsene Wenger is happy for van Persie to run down his contract

If no-one matches that valuation, then manager Arsene Wenger is happy to keep Van Persie at The Emirates and allow his contract to run down in June 2013.

That would make the player a free agent in a year’s time but he would also be approaching his 30th birthday and his market value will have dipped and he would be unlikely to command a salary in excess of Arsenal’s current offer.

Arsenal will also have bolstered their strike force by the start of the season.

Lukas Podoloski has already joined from Cologne for £10m and a deal for a similar sum has been agreed with new French champions Montpellier for striker Olivier Giroud. If Van Persie stays at the club to see out his contract Giroud will have a full season to adapt to the Premier League.

Theo Walcott: could be on his way as well

But there is also a question mark about the future of Theo Walcott. The England winger also has one-year left on his contract but talks about a new deal have reached deadlock.

The two parties are still some distance from agreement and Walcott could be on the move in the summer.

i still dont think he'll go to another premier league club though

I still can't believe some of our fans are that vain that they wouldn't want someone of van persies quality at this football club.

Back on topic.....

Looks like his future will be decided very soon,an awesome acquisition for someone - Piers is already squawking.......!!

If he does come to us will we get the full Cockney song and dance routine from the Gooners?

Neither do I. Never think it was an option to be honest. I hope I'm right and that he heads over to Italy or Spain.
