robin van persie (continued)

According to Nicola Cecere from Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are "dead set" on getting van Persie and the £8million offer was probably a deliberate attempt to test the waters. What Juve might not match us with though is wages but how motivated by money is van Persie?

But if Juve strike fast we may be powerless if our plan is to sell before we buy. Buy van Persie now and Dzeko and Tevez admirers will be licking their lips, the £14million offers will fast arrive knowing we need to rid of one.

So people actually think we can accommodate

RVP
Tevez
Aguero
Dzeko
Balotelli
Adebayor
Guidetti

7 strikers ?

It's becoming embarrasing. We are not playing football manager.

Until we get rid of at least two/three from that list permanently we shouldn't even be thinking of shelling out more wages on another forward.
Where have people said that?

We will have done ground work on the players leaving before we entered talks with Van Persie. You should also add Santa Cruz to that list even though he is nailed on to leave this summer.

So thats 8 strikers.

For the season we will have Aguero, Balotelli, Tevez/Dzeko and Van Persie.

Adebayor will go wherever the money is so Anzhi or PSG, Santa Cruz to Betis and Guidetti will be loaned out to a mid table premier league team.

I can't believe we're signing him!

This is the best striker in the Premier League. He stayed fit all last season and look how good he was - unbelievable.

Other than Messi and Ronaldo, this guy is the best finisher in the world. In my opinion, of course. His finishing is insane, he's got the best left foot after Messi, easily.

Sure, maybe he doesn't fit with our criteria of signing players in their early twentys with a sell-on value, but he's 28, he's in the top 3 strikers in world football and has a good 3-4 years left at the top level. He can propel us to the next level, there's no doubt of that in my eyes. The rumoured fee of £22 million is cheap too for a player of his quality, especially when the likes of Cavani and Falcao would cost near £40 million.

This will be the biggest signing in football all summer.
Who said we are signing RVP?
I know we are the bookies favourites, but we were also theirs to sign Hazard and we all know what happened there.

If we sign RVP I will be seriously concerned.

1. We already have 4 class strikers (5 if you include Ade). Adding RVP will mean we have 5 which is just stupidity at its best.

2. We aren't anywhere near as desperate for a forward as we are for a winger and another centre mid.

3. He's getting on.
Let me help you out mate,
1. don't Inc Ade,
2. Tevez could fuck off if his tomatoes don't ripen in time,
3. we need someone with champs league experience,
4. I expect we will be involved in longer cup runs
5. Balo is still a liability
6. RvP is fuckin quality and will be used less than he currently is.
Firstly why not include Ade ????? We are paying his wages of over 100k a week we can't just forget him you complete tomato. Add to that nobody fucking wants him. Again an example of someone who think it's football manager.

Secondly, Balotelli is not a liability as he proved rather well towards the end of the season and at the euros.

Thirdly, all of our strikers have plenty of CL experience having played in it for many seasons ?

And finally even IF tevez does decide to be a **** again we stand to make another 10m, so it's not a disaster.

Adebayor is not part of the club's plans, if we're lucky we'll shift him for good, most likely scenario is that we loan him out again. Dzeko needs regular football, he's probably 4th, at best 3rd choice out of our 4 current forwards. Honestly, how many people think City want to keep Tevez, at all costs, will probably accept any decent offer.
Next season, I think it will be; Aguero, RVP, Balotelli and one more, not sure who, could be Guidetti

There is no interest from anybody to buy Ade outright due to his wages, Well known fact.

Santa cruz is similar to above, albeit slightly more interest (mainly on loan).

RVP for £14m is a steal. At that price it makes sense.

If you believe our forum ITK and Duncan Castles, he had agreed to join us back in the winter.
