Regardless of the ITKs on here never thought this was a runner for several reasons.

1) VP does not fit the profile of any of our signings. Too old.
2) He is whatever anyone says an injury risk.
3) Arsenal wouldn't want to sell us a virus after everything that went down in the past.
4)We have 4 talented strikers already and have still to offload a couple of others Ade, RSC.
5) Mancini has always wanted Cavani. RVP is a smokescreen. Mancini says nice things about him, keeping our options open. RVP may have been a fall back if Tevez had exited, but he's staying.
6) In addition after 8 years in England it's fair to assume VP might like something different. Always thought he'd go to Barca.

Knee jerk based on rumor in Italian press. Mancini wants RVP 100%

Not knee jerk. Have thought all along that we are not in for him. The most obvious thing is that we don't need him. Cue people saying he is better than Edin. Sure he is.

But then we sign Messi surely as he is better than Silva. And so on.

RVP is attainable and better than at least one of our current strikers. Hence our interest.

John Cross:

That's a big if, of course. But the sooner van Persie is sorted, the better. It's my understanding that his preference is Juventus. Then Manchester United. And the chances of van Persie going to Manchester City are a distant third.

Van Persie does not fancy the City dressing room, sees an awful lot of players there and a lot of rotation and knows that moving to the Etihad would end his relationship with Arsenal fans.

Haven't our ITKs told us he wants to come here? So who is right, Cross is allegedly close to van Persie.

He better not go to the rags, a van Persie/Rooney partnership... just no.

1.his skill far out weighs his age and what he can bring to city in the next 2-3 years.
2.we have a good rotation system and quality strikers to make sure he wont be burned out.
3.clichy,nasri,ady,kolo if they want to leave as proven arsenal wont be able to stop them.
4.RVP is better than at least dzeko.
5.if mancini had i=his way he would have both RVP and cavani getting rid og tevez and dzeko.
6.i agree :)

I can't see Van Persie wanting to come here. He's a detestable little woman that needs to be the centre of attention.

The people claiming to know whats going havent got a clue either.

RVP's relationship with the Arse fans will terminate whoever he went to.

Apparently its trending on twitter that rvp is gonna sign for us within the next 2 weeks for £225,000 a week and wants the no.10 shirt.
