Rodney Marsh and Dennis Tueart

He scored an absolute cracker of a goal against Newcastle in the 1972/3 season.
I was behind the goal in the old scoreboard end and saw him send a bunch of defenders the wrong way with a simple body movement and then curled the ball into the bottom corner of the net. We won 2-0 by the way.

Scored a wonderful one against United, at OT. I was in the paddock along the side for that one, so I had a terrific view of the entire scoreboard end going crazy with blue. We seemed to take over that whole end for derbies. I know that at the time we loved Rodney, whatever anyone may say taking the long view. He had a swashbuckling style that was just us. A cockney who was immediately adopted.

Didn’t he come on as a sub that night.

We lost the league that season he joined us, not just because of him, but Big Mals stupidity in dropping our player of the season, Tony Towers who was wonderful.
Midfield after that was awful for those remaining fixtures.
My first full season of going to games, as an eight year old thought it'd be ours next year....many moons later it finally happened but as an original glory hunter I was absolutely fucking shite.

As I remember it, yes. The History section here on the forum would confirm one way or the other.
Watch the footage of our match against them in November, 72 (the following season), by the way. Marsh is absolutely taking the piss out of them. Summerbee following his lead.

Didn't take him long to remember who he didn't like at the club :)

Before my time so didn't see him play but always liked his straightforward punditry.
