Rodri Injury Updates | City say ligament injury (pg117)

My best guess having done my own ACL is that our boy has a partial tear which will take 3 to 4 months to heal. If he wasn't a professional sportsman it could be left to heal with external treatments but given that a footballer causes different stresses to the ligaments it will be best to have reconstructive graft surgery otherwise it my happen again. Either way we will have to do without Rodders until Feb/Mar at the earliest. I may be wrong but if it was a full blow out they would know pretty much straight away that his season is done.

I'm not sure if he's had serious injuries before and how long his recovery normally takes. Does anyone know? Some players are faster healers and a lot depends on pushing yourself - luckily City have the best support team around and Dr Cugat is a wizard with knees.

you know, i love football

We become lawyers, accountants, surgeons, physios, coaches very fast.
That is the beauty of having an excellent education system in this country, producing idiots who think they know it all when in fact they get their information off fucking Tik tok

Am I the only one who thinks the longer it takes to diagnose the worse its lookin ??
I wouldn't be so sure.

From what it sounds like, two teams of doctors are disagreeing over the severity of the injury. I'd imagine one team is calling for surgery and 6-9 months rest, and the other is saying it's not necessary to go for surgery and that only (for example) 2-3 months off are required. Probably why there were conflicting reports 48 hours ago about the seriousness of it all.

Sounds like, from what some are saying, that a full ACL tear is unambiguous so we'd know by now if it was that. Which raises doubts that he's even damaged his ACL, that it could be his MCL or something else.

Yeah this hasn’t moved us on at all.

I can only think there is still conflicting information on severity.

Why not wait and put a proper statement out when known?
