Rodri Injury Updates | City say ligament injury (pg117)

Need to aim for 90 points as usual to win the league so win 26 games from the remaining 33 - I think that's very do-able even without Rodri. I can't see Arsenal or Liverpool hitting that number. Unfortunate that Ake is out till mid October as I fancy he could be useful as a purely defensive holding player as another option.

Fully expect though we will go with Kovacic and have Lewis moving into midfield from right back.

I think we are only a couple weeks away from Ake returning at this point. He isn't far off.

That's good news. Whatever we do as cover think we will concede some of the possession stats we are used to but may end up with some extra space for the likes of Savinho, Doku and Haaland to exploit. Rodri missing may encourage teams to come at us a little more.

Can't wait for Aké to turn into prime Ruud Gullit

Anyone else thinking that our game against Newcastle this weekend will be an audition for Bruno. G?

Buying him in January seems obvious to me (if he's keen). He knows the league, he's very good and his purchase would surely finally give us rotation depth for Rodri further down the line.

I suppose the real question is, would you rather be a player who doesn't play every game but wins silverware, or be the main man and not win anything? I know a certain lad from Villa who made that choice, I think he chose correctly.

No. We've crossed that bridge. We have our next DM already in Perrone.

What will be most interesting is whether we bring him back or give him another year to adjust to the physicality required in Serie A which is a must for the PL.

This season our hard games come in bunches and Nov 23 to late December is the first batch and then it's Feb to March.

We have plenty of time to bed a system that'll work till then and I wouldn't be surprised if Foden gets license to go back there, get the ball and progress it further but someone else has to do the defensive work required.

Give it a rest he's moved on, and why City Xtra thought that was any sort of news is beyond me!

One of the other big City accounts had put out the idea that we would recall Phillips, basically, which led to a lot of people asking if it was even possible.

According to a lot on here Rico can do it, no panic there then :)

Perrone lmfao

Seems like its serious but the severity of it is being intentionally left out. Our enemies are celebrating anyway so why give them the benefit of specificity. Better that they only get a vague "he's out", rather than an actual date of return. Let the league stew over something that don't need to know.

I would assume (I'm not a doctor) that if it is a tear or rupture, then he will likely be going under the knife in the next several days.
