Rodri Injury Updates | City say ligament injury (pg117)

No. We've crossed that bridge. We have our next DM already in Perrone.

What will be most interesting is whether we bring him back or give him another year to adjust to the physicality required in Serie A which is a must for the PL.

This season our hard games come in bunches and Nov 23 to late December is the first batch and then it's Feb to March.

We have plenty of time to bed a system that'll work till then and I wouldn't be surprised if Foden gets license to go back there, get the ball and progress it further but someone else has to do the defensive work required.
No offence but there's absolutely nothing to suggest Perrone will be our next DM. He's half the height and half the weight of Rodri so we'd lose a bunch of duels with that replacement. Also it's very rare we send a player on a bunch of loans and then integrate them into the squad. He's much more likely to be a cfg signing imo.

Have you seen him lately? He's put on like 30 pounds since we last saw him and is not easily pushed aside. He was sent to Serie A to bulk up and learn how to be a physical DM.

Last night he bossed the midfield against Atalanta.. a team that's given us trouble.. so much trouble we needed Kyle Walker in goal.

Perrone lmfao

I'll get the last laugh here because from everyone he's super high rated. But DM is not a position you can learn by just watching from the bench. You have to experience it.

You can call me whatever you want but I will keep saying this..

PERRONE IS RODRI's LONG TERM REPLACEMENT AT DM!

Ye ok mate lol

Maybe you'll be right but from what I heard.. the plan is 2 seasons on loan to learn DM and bulk up and then learn under Pep.

Basically we are trying to make our DM's rather than buy them because Kalvin and Nunes clearly aren't working out and we can't afford to get another major signing wrong.

So City are at least going to try to incorporate him.

I am a bit calmer about this today , we have won four titles in a row so if pep cant sort it then not surprised if we fall short , wouldnt be too upset

I dont believe we can win the cl without him , he is so key for attack and defence , he is a god

Wishing him a good recovery

Keep that positivity going..

If Chelsea can win a CL with their top scorer only having 7 goals for an entire season.. we can too.. granted we won't be trying to injure players like they did in the final.

As big a miss that Rodders is, I'm confident that we'll be able to cope. Kova has been playing well this season and this time around we've got Gundo back too. Pep will no doubt already have a plan. Siege Mentality will get us through this.

I thought the system with Kova and Bernie in the middle with Rico pushing into that right hand midfield and Savinho overlapping looked really decent early doors. Which I suppose you'd say Stones playing the John Stones role for CL games gives us some flexibility depending on occasion. Feel much better about this now than I would have done 12 months ago.
