Rodri Injury Updates | TNT & ESPN reporting ACL | Still nothing official

I am deservedly burning in hell from the wig down

Of course we’ve been struggling to replace him (he is irreplaceable) but now we are in a different position we can do SOMETHING about it to make things easier
The problem with buying a proper back up for Rodri, not Kalvin Phillips, is he isn't going to sit on the bench waiting for him to get injured, he will want to play all the time. That's the dilemma. We will just have to go with what we have and see where it takes us.

I think we will need to buy in the summer though. Rodri will be 29 and coming back from a serious injury. He will need to be managed so carefully, but Gundogan, Kovacic and Bernardo will all be a year older. Pep and City have managed transitioning the squad very well over the years and sometimes that involves crossover (Fern and Rodri). Rodri can also play as an 8. I am fairly certain we will be in for a specialist DM in the summer.

We’ll have to
I think the reason for the quiet window this year is that the club are either waiting for a fresh commitment from Pep or preparing to back the next manager. Squad transition feels likely next summer

I'm hoping for the best, but fearing the worst.

Without a question of doubt we are weaker without him, I've not been impressed with Gundo on his return, Kova is injury prone, I hope we've got a young diamond coming through the ranks who can step up to the plate and help relieve the burden from the above.

People need to get a grip saying the season is over
No doubt it takes the wind out of your sails but that’s life!
It is, and for now it's still raw. Once the actual extent of the damage has been confirmed then people will make peace with it and move on. I take encouragement from the away game at West Ham. I thought we were superb and perhaps our most fluid since the Real Madrid first half in 2023. We did it without Rodri. Things like this just show how unbelievable we have been to be able to pick up four PLs in a row. Given we're in the ultra-professional era, it's the greatest feat in English football history.

Well just read we won't get more than 80 points without Rods in the team which clearly wouldn't be enough to win the league. But let's see, it is very much Arsenal's to lose now and that might suit us. Good news hopefully in January and an inspired purchase or 2 might turn the tide mid-season. An announcement that Pep is staying an extra few years would also be a nice boost. It would be a monumental achievement to win the league this season if Rodri is out for 6 months plus but don't rule us out yet.

I heard he went to the USA for treatment and City only paid for Economy seats on the plane. That would not have helped his knee at all.
Correct, the players had a win-round to pay for his GF to go an visit him as Swales refused

If I recall correctly, then Paul was injured during a home game with Villa as he landed and he left the field on his own accord He missed a few games and, if rumours, are true they had him running up and down the Kippax He played in a game a few weeks later, Sheffield United? and I remember hearing on the radio he’d collapsed very early into the game and left on a stretcher. The club, Swales, we’re horrendous in their support he had numerous operations bur never recovered, the medical treatment was far less sophistication back then though.
Off the top of my head, the return game was QPR at home when he played about half hour, then Middlesborough away midweek when he got injured again. And I don't think it was weeks later, more like a season or so later(I think) I maybe wrong because it was 33/4 odd years ago. I do remember him playing in a few friendlies pre season and all looked rosie..how wrong were we.
