Prefer the B side to.........To be fair, I think The Beatles can be both very good and overated.
Both statements can co-exist..........

Beatles you could clearly. You could do 50 easily despite the Beatles being far less prolific than the Stones too. Not so sure about the Stones — 50 is a lot. The Beatles are into and unto themselves. Both the Stones and the Beatles have a back catalogue of songs that is light years above any other artist in the world. If you were asked to write down 50 songs from each you could easily and probably double that number, and everyone would recognise them. There are few if any other bands/artists that you could come close to that and get the same universal recognition. The Who aren't even in the same conversation.

I’ve always liked The Who (and Led Zep and Floyd and The Beatles) better than the Stones but that doesn’t mean the Stones aren’t more important or influential than all of them except the Beatles.

- little red rooster
- satisfaction
- brown sugar

It doesn't prove anything mate other than my memory isn't as good as I thought. 15 for both bands and solo artists is impossible. There are 30 odd that I have left out that would make it on another day. I had two of the three in my list. The Who were one of the bands that didn't make it. Like Tommy and Quadrophenia but not a lot else.I doubt everyone would recognise all of those tracks. I wasn't sure what one of them was until I worked out you'd abbreviated it. I'm dreadful on song titles though these days: I don't pay them much attention anymore.
The Stones produced more output that The Who but I think the latter have plenty of recognisable songs too. Not sure what it proves one way or the other.
As it stands though I do know that I will probably have to choose between the two bands for my Top 15, which is a source of pain and consternation.
because I like to check that you read my posts. Well done. Excellent. To be honest 15 I would know from name before hearing the rest maybe from hearing but wouldn't know the name of the song.
Also why is ruby tuesday twice.
