Do we know who will step into Lavia's place in the youth team?
I think he means IF he is bought back, then we are basically paying the difference to have Southampton develop him for us.Perhaps it's the way your post reads but Southampton are paying us, not the other way around. Where do training fees come into it?
Probably Shea Charles. Only 18 but already made his full international debut for Northern Ireland earlier this summerDo we know who will step into Lavia's place in the youth team?
He’s versatile but more a DM who can play centre half, rather than the other way around.Mahamadou Susoho is probably the one nearest to Lavia's position. I think Shea Charles could be more of a straight defender, Could be wrong though.
Buyback seems high. The key issue with the buyback for me though is the length. If it's £40 million as suggested but it's only for the next 2 years maybe 3, how much is he realistically going to be worth in an open market in that time frame anyway? He would have to be an instant overwhelming success to see his value reach that in that time frame, and if we're expecting that to happen then why not just loan him out? We're just about to pay £40 million for Phillips whose English and 26.
